Middle Schools Enhance Distance Learning Model
COVID-19 & Distance Learning
BTSD Middle School Students have been receiving remote instruction from their content and grade level teachers. Students have been meeting virtually with their teachers and classmates to continue with the 2019-2020 school year during COVID-19. Thank you to all of the parents, students, and teachers that have committed themselves to this process.
To stay connected with students and support learning, teachers have been communicating, posting assignments, and sharing materials through Google classroom. Students and their families will continue to communicate with their children’s teachers through email and Google Classroom.
BTSD Partners with Edgenuity
In order to ensure consistency and continuity in ELA (English and Language Arts) and Mathematics, both Bristol Township School District middle schools will deliver instruction using Edgenuity, an online learning management system. All other content areas will continue with their current virtual instructional practices.
What is Edgenuity?
Edgenuity is an online learning management system that will provide guided instruction in Mathematics and ELA. Course content will be delivered by your child’s teacher and students will be assigned independent work. Edgenuity incorporates engaging, direct-instruction videos and a mix of supported and independent practice that keep students motivated as they learn, and helps them to master skills so they can move on to more complex concepts. Edgenuity provides actionable, real-time data which enables educators to quickly see how students are performing, and if they could benefit from small-group or one-on-one instruction.
Which Students Participate in Edgenuity?
BTSD students who attend either Franklin D. Roosevelt or Neil A. Armstrong will receive Edgenuity courseware in ELA and Mathematics. Middle School students will be guided by their teachers on how to login and navigate the online courseware. Students will still communicate and pose questions/concerns to their teachers as they do now through Google Classroom or email.
