The Cheetah Chat

Ms. In's Inside Scoop

December 8, 2017

Dear Creek View families,

We had quite an exciting day today! I hope everyone is home and staying warm. I'm sure many children are out playing in the snow. What a fun experience for them! I want to give a shout out to all the CVES staff members for pulling together today to ensure we had a smooth and safe dismissal for all of our students. Also, an extra thank you to all the dads who came in this morning to help us with our carpool. It is always greatly appreciated.

I hope everyone has a fun, safe weekend! Enjoy our southern winter wonderland!

Go Cheetahs!

Art Show was a Huge Success

Thank you to everyone who came out for our Art Show. It was a huge success! Proceeds from the sales are directly invested back into the art department for the purchase of art supplies and materials so we thank you for your support of our art program, and a special thank you to Mrs. Maranto for organizing the event!

Way to go Chorus students!

Our Chorus students shined and put on a fabulous performance! Thank you to everyone who attended the concert and to Mrs. Crane and Mrs. Bowers for hosting the concert!

Project Based Learning (PBL)

Last year, Creek View began integrating Project Based Learning (PBL) Units. PBL is a teaching method in which students gain knowledge and skills by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to an authentic, engaging and complex question, problem, or challenge. Each grade level has successfully completed at least one Project Based Learning Unit this semester. Rather than having one schoolwide Project Based Learning Showcase at the end of the year, each grade level will showcase a chosen unit during the school day.

Second and Third Grade held their showcases the week before the break. Thank you to all the parents who were able to attend. If you would like to learn more about PBL, grade level units, view photos, and see final products examples, please visit the PBL website at the link below. Continue to check back throughout the school year. More will be added as grade levels finish units. Stay tuned for Kindergarten, First, Fourth, and Fifth Grade Showcases next semester. Parents will receive information once a date is decided. In the meantime, you can check out the current grade level units as well as units completed in ESOL, TAG, and Special Areas by visiting the website.

We would love for the students to be able to experience and learn about as many different countries and cultures as possible!

Lost & Found

Our Lost & Found is overflowing with many items. Please remind your child to stop by and take a look for items that may belong to them. Any items that are left on December 8th will be collected and donated to North Fulton Community Charities.

FCS Make-up Day - February 16, 2018

FCS has officially announced that February 16, 2018 will be a make-up day for students and staff members to make up for the days that were missed due to the inclement weather we experienced as a result of Hurricane Irma.

Morning drop-off begins at 7:10 and ends at 7:40

Please remember if you are dropping off your child in the mornings through the carpool line, the earliest your child may be dropped off is 7:10 am and carpool ends promptly at 7:40 as students must be marked tardy if they are not in the building by that time. Please remember to account for the time that it will take to go through the carpool line once you arrive on campus. The busiest time for carpool is between 7:30 -7:40 so please plan your travel time accordingly to avoid your child being marked tardy. Once the 7:40 bell rings, we must stop the carpool line, and parents must park their car and walk their child in as school has officially begun. Thank you for helping us ensure that all students are in their classrooms on time!

School Governance Council (SGC)

The SGC is continuing the important work of developing goals for our Strategic Plan 2022. On November 30, the council met to discuss goals for People and Culture and Community Collaboration. If you have not had the opportunity to review the new Fulton County Strategic Plan 2022, please do so at the following link:

The strategic planning process will continue as our next step will include establishing goals for Fiscal Responsibility. The next CVES SGC meeting will take place on January 18 at 2:45 in the media center.

Please watch the following video:

Cafe News

On November 1st, we will begin providing Grab & Go breakfast for our students. We are excited to provide Grab & Go breakfast as it will allow students to take their breakfast so they will be able to get to their classrooms sooner and have extra time to prepare for the start of their day.

The monthly school lunch menu may be accessed through our school website or at the following link:

Calling All Volunteers!

Creek View could not be successful without the help of our wonderful volunteers. It truly takes a village, and what an amazing village we have! If you would like to volunteer at Creek View this year, please make sure you complete the FCS volunteer registration process to become a registered volunteer. It takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and 24-48 hours to process by the district. You must be a registered volunteer before you will be able to come in to help with a class event/activity or any school event. UPDATE: If you completed the process last year, you do not have to complete it again this year. Please access the following link to complete the registration process:
