The Cheetah Chat

Ms. In's Inside Scoop

May 29, 2018

Dear Creek View families,

I hope everyone is having an amazing start to their summer. It's hard to believe this will be the last Cheetah Chat newsletter for the year. I spent this past weekend reflecting on our school year. I am beaming with pride at our many accomplishments and celebrations. Students and teachers have owned what it means to have a growth mindset. It has been so wonderful to see students focusing on their growth throughout the year and learning to make goals for themselves. I loved see the students showing GRIT as they worked hard to accomplish their goals, and I also enjoyed seeing them telling the grown-ups to have GRIT, too! It has been wonderful to see students excited about their writing, their problem solving skills in math, growing their love for reading, and being investigative scientists and historians. They have also been creative real-world problem solvers in their PBL units and talented performers in the musical and talent show.

I am most proud of how caring, compassionate, and kind our students are to each other and to their teachers. I am so lucky to serve as the principal of a school that exemplifies these characteristics.

Wherever this summer takes you, whether it's to the beach, to another country, or just around your neighborhood, I wish you all a wonderful summer full of lazy, summer days, laughter, and lots of fun new memories with family and friends!

Thank you to all the parents and families for your partnership with CVES to help us provide the best possible school for our students! Go Cheetahs!

Your proud principal,

Monica In

P.S. We are already excited about 2018-2019 and have begun planning for a great new year! Please access the link below for our Hello Summer video.

Farewell Class of 2025!

I want to wish our rising 6th grade students farewell as they head off to their next adventure known as middle school. They had an exciting and memorable last week of elementary school with their promotion ceremony and carnival. We are going to miss you! Remember, your future is so bright!

AHS Seniors do final walk through CVES

We welcomed former Cheetahs who graduated from AHS last Thursday evening to do a final walk through CVES on Thursday morning. It was so exciting to see the graduating seniors! All the students and staff members cheered them on as they walked through our halls with their cap and gowns and beaming smiles. We are so proud of our former Cheetahs!

PBIS Assembly with Gutsy the Fox

Our students enjoyed an exciting assembly to celebrate earning their goal of 8,000 PAWS tickets! Students have worked hard to have a positive attitude, accept responsibility, make wise choices, and to act and behave in a way that keeps their safety first. They learned about team work, having courage, and even got to see Gutsy the Fox jump over my head to slam dunk a basketball!

Wonder fundraiser

CVES raised $1,405 to donate to the Holland East School located in Holland, MI. The money was used to purchase copies of the book Wonder for every student at the school. A group of 5th graders had the opportunity to Skype with the principal, Mr. Nick Cassidy, and the students of Holland East. They had a great time asking each other questions and getting to know each other!

Thank you, PTA!

One final THANK YOU to our amazing PTA for everything they do for Creek View's staff and students. So much of the wonderful things that happen at CVES would not be possible with the help and support of PTA. They hosted their final lunch for the staff on Friday and it was beautiful and delicious!
