celebrating 26 years of excellence in catholic education
Theme for the Year: Hope
At St. Joseph Catholic School, each and every day we are training students to be missionary disciples, and learning to recognize God in our lives and in the world around us,
full of HOPE for the future.
Our Mission and Vision Statements
Mission:
St. Joseph Catholic School provides students with a nurturing and prayerful learning environment committed to academic excellence, training missionary disciples to seek virtue, wisdom, and truth, in partnership with a community of active and faithful families.
Vision:
Catholic schools in the Diocese of Fort Worth are committed to opening the doors so that our students can reach further than the walls that would otherwise enclose them and therefore are able to recognize and cherish the eternal and transcendental goods of Truth, Beauty, and Goodness.
Motto:
Teaching the Mind...Nourishing the Soul
From the principal
Happy North Texas Giving Day!
As I write this, we have raised over $20,000 for the school through the generosity of both current and past SJCS families, faculty and staff. We are so grateful for your love and support. You are amazing!
It has been a busy week at St. Joseph Catholic School. More and more beautiful student work is going up around the building and excitement can be heard coming from the classrooms, as teachers work with students on line and on campus. We are hitting our stride and getting used to the new routines. Even the car line seems to be moving a little faster at times. I am so proud of all the efforts currently under way to make the 2020-2021 school year an uplifting, positive experience for all.
While visiting classrooms this week, I experienced wonderful things like daily prayer, complex academic language being used by the students, and clever reasoning/problem solving on display. I am continually impressed by what our students can achieve, and how they continue to grow in their faith.
God bless Catholic schools and those who faithfully support them.
Diane Price, M.Ed.L.
Principal

- 9/24 SPIRIT SHIRT DAY FOR SUMMER READING LOGS - Every summer we encourage all members of the school community, including students, faculty, and staff, to read a minimum of 600 minutes (or 10 hours) while away on summer break. We know that summer reading is particularly beneficial in helping students retain and expand upon the literacy skills they have developed during the past school year. All who completed and submitted a Reading Log when we returned to school, earned a St. Joseph Spirit Shirt privilege for this Thursday, September 24th. Students may wear their spirit shirt, uniform bottoms and shoes.

Take a look at the spectacular banner below from the Class of 2020. We cannot wait to get it up on the wall in the cafeteria!
COVID-19 Daily Home Screening Required for Students
Parents: Please be sure to complete this short screening each morning. If none of these apply to your child, you may come to school. Please contact the school if your child is sick or has been exposed to a positive COVID-19 individual. We will guide you on what next steps to take regarding your return date to campus.
SECTION 1: Symptoms
If your child has any of the following symptoms, that indicates a possible illness that may decrease the student’s ability to learn and also put them at risk for spreading illness to others. Please check your child for these symptoms:
1. Temperature 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher when taken by mouth
2. Sore throat
3. New uncontrolled cough that causes difficulty breathing (for students with chronic allergic/asthmatic cough, a change in their cough from baseline)
4. Diarrhea, vomiting, or abdominal pain
5. New onset of severe headache, especially with a fever
SECTION 2: Close Contact/Potential Exposure
1. Had close contact (within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes) with a person with confirmed COVID-19
