Weekly Article: "Ask Me About..."
Each week the grade level teams will publish two to three statements for caregivers to use as conversation starters with their child(ren). Although the Scoop is a great place to see and discuss end-of-learning products, these "ask me about" conversation starters will help promote discussions about current learning. For additional questions to ask your child about school, please visit "Understood's" article:

Mrs. Frommeyer's News:
Ask a caregiver to tell me about three special memories: A homework assignment after reading Knots on the Counting Rope!
When CH was two years old she had her first hair cut by her sister VH. I was at the store and when I returned CH had a "new style."
CH was a cute little mouse in the "Nutcracker" CH loves ballet and has been an angel, soldier and "Polly."
CH really loves going to Florida to visit her nana. One year she went to Disney and CH's favorite ride is the "Seven Dwarfs. She also met "Snow White."
AS was eight years old when we worked on his first school project together. We investigated the Town of Eastham.
I remember the time I saw AS play basketball at the Chatham Recreational Center and thought "Wow, he is really good" at playing basketball.
I remember the first time I met AS. He was seven years old and we were so excited to finally see him.

Mrs. King's class news
This week we read our first Magic Tree House book, Dinosaurs Before Dark. We were introduced to the characters, Jack and Annie. We are learning how to write a chapter summary. We are acting the story out as we read and even getting a chance to dress up like dinosaurs during our playtime.
The Mad Scientist came to visit us and we did an experiment with apple seeds. We made a hypothesis (a good thinking guess) about what the apple seeds would do. We drew our observations.
Jacob brought an experiment to school for us to try. We dropped seeds ("Spinners") from our loft to see why they are called spinners. Thanks Jacob.
We play lots of I Have Who Has games. This week we are playing the game with half of the uppercase alphabet. We are bringing one home to play with our families. We had some children model the game to share with you.

We had a package delivered to our class today that was wrapped so MANY times. Mrs. King really wanted to give up opening it because every time she thought it was the last layer to unwrap there was more. All the girls and boys kept telling her not to give up! They told her to PERSEVERE! When the package was opened there was a book for all of it. We are so happy she didn't give up!!
We ended our week with a pajama party to celebrate our second full shark tank. We are already working on the third tank!!
4th Grade News:
PreK News:
In preschool, we filled our second shark jar. Students voted on an applesauce party. We peeled apples, cut them up, and put them in a pot. Students tasted red, green, and yellow apples. Both classes liked green apples the most. We made apple pie at the art table.
This week in preschool we made leaf collages. We found leaves outside and dried them out. Then we read the book Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert. Students made collages of unicorns, narwals, race cars, and sharks. In the afternoon, we made leaf collages with our book buddies (Mrs. Gula's class). There is no school tomorrow or Monday. Looking forward to seeing you on Tuesday.
