Fishman Prize for Exemplary Teachers
Applications are now open for the TNTP Fishman Prize http://tntp.org/fishman-prize . Annually, TNTP recognizes up to five teachers who are providing exemplary education to their students. Award recipients receive $25,000 and the opportunity to participate in a three week summer residency. During the residency teachers meet with each other, TNTP staff, and leading figures in education to collaborate and write the Fishman Prize Essays, which are shared nationally.
A previous winner from North Carolina summarized her experience saying, “As a result of these experiences, I no longer see myself as an educator making a difference in one classroom at a time—I am a game changer, redefining what it means to be a teacher leader at the district, state, and national level.”
Please encourage the game changers in your school to apply for the Fishman Prize. The application is available at http://tntp.org/fishman-prize/how-to-apply is due by Jan. 5. If you have any questions, please email Adriana.Harrington@tn.gov.
