School Counselor's Chronicle

Mount Energy Elementary School

April 2020

No words can express what we are experiencing and this is such a trying time for us all. Our school staff want you to know that we miss you and are here to help where we can for your child's academic and social-emotional needs.

You and your children may be experiencing some ups and downs right now with the many changes and disruptions, some within our control, and many that are not.

As a parent, one of the best things you do is be a calming presence - be present and let them know that it is "okay to be upset." And remember, you need to take care of yourself too, because "you can't pour from an empty cup." Below are some links to information/activities to help deal with stress and fears.

If you have any questions, concerns or needs that I can help with, please email me at

I have created a Google Classroom for 4th and 5th grade students to continue with our Character Education lessons while we are away from school. If your child has not accepted the email invitation I sent them, encourage them to do so. I will also be posting some information for 5th graders to help with transitioning to middle school.
