Secondary Math Updates
Math Pilot Update
Thanks to everyone who expressed interest in piloting new materials. Products that will be piloted include:
* Curriculum Associates' Ready series for middle school
* Houghton Mifflin Harcourt's middle and high school materials
* McGraw - Hill's Reveal series for middle and high school
* Pearson's middle and high school materials
After the pilot phase has been completed, we will form a textbook committee to make a formal recommendation. Stay tuned!
DESMOS PD for the High School Math Teacher
High school teachers: Join us for a DESMOS PD to learn how to get the most out of this powerful program.
The PD will be held during our regular department chair meeting, but is open to all high school math teachers. We hope to schedule a middle school version soon. Stay tuned!

Edulastic for Math
Tuesday, November 12th @ 6PM Register Now
MS Accelerated Math
Math 6 teachers wishing to recommend students for the program can fill out a form on our website. Students can practice a test in Edulastic and work on their Math 7 skills by using a new ALEKS account. All of this information can be found on our website as well.

ALEKS courses
Be very careful to move students into new classes following the steps in the ALEKS guide. If not, courses will not be aligned to Ohio's Learning Standards. Even if you already created courses the "old" way, you can still create new courses and move students into them.
Below is a flowchart of the recommended pathways and percentages of high school math courses necessary to move students forward.

On Wednesday, November 6, our high school department chair will be held at Linden-McKinley STEM from 3:30pm - 5:30pm.
On Tuesday, November 19, our middle school curriculum liaison meeting will be held at Southland Center, 3700 South High Street, from 4:00pm - 6:00pm.
