Tuesday, March 27th-
- SLT after car riders in Margee's room
- Sarah off campus to be on District Interview Committee

- Kindergarten Quarterly Planning
- 2nd/1st/4th PLC (just during specials block - not extended)
Thursday, March 29th-
- 5th PLC (just during specials block - not extended)
- End of 3rd Nine Weeks
- Early Release for students (follow Early Release Lunch Schedule, homeroom teachers please supervise your class at lunch today)
- Yes, there is Y After School
- No, there is no SOAR tutoring or Y Learning
- Staff at all schools will have staff development after the students leave. At NCE, we will continue working on the work! Everyone, please plan to work as a PLC to work on the work so that you are ready for April 9th! Please remember, report cards go home the week we return.
THEN....SPRING BREAK!!!! See you Monday, April 9th!
Updates/Reminders
Extended PLC
- There will be NO Extended PLC's this week due to World's Fair.
NCE Time from Friday
- Triple time until 8:00
- Quadruple time after 8:00
- Please turn in sheets tomorrow!
Teeshirt Order for Boosterthon Fun Run
- The PTA needs for each homeroom teacher to give them numbers using the following spreadsheet regarding teeshirts/sizes to order for your class. They need to place the order Thursday. Please click on this link and submit sizes for your class by the end of the day Thursday.
Chatham County Job Fair
- We are in need of 4-5 certified staff members to represent NCE at the upcoming job fair. The date is April 12th from 4:00 - 7:00. You could earn NCE time from 3:30 - 7:30. Please submit your name to this google form if you are interested in participating. Carla will get back with you after seeing how much interest we have!
Planning Time on Thursday
- Thursday is scheduled to be a school wide staff development opportunity. We will be working on the work during this time. Please plan to work on things that will help you be ready for April 9th and to finish the last nine weeks STRONG!
Grade Level - Retention Letters
- Please make sure you have sent letters before leaving for Spring Break. The remainder of the letters will be in your box Monday if you have not received them yet. Please make sure you have conversations with parents prior to sending the letters home. If you need help, please reach out to support staff (EC, ESL, reading, etc).
NC Checkins
- Mark your calendars, support staff...we will be doing our last round of NC Checkins for 4th and 5th graders on April 10th-12th in the mornings so please know we may need you to administer the test to a group during those days.
Report Card Grades:
- End of the 3rd nine weeks - Thursday, March 29th
- Report Cards will go home the Friday we return from Spring Break!!!
- 3rd - 5th teachers, Grades will be Due to Evonne on Tuesday, April 10th at 8 am
- K-2 report cards will be reviewed on Thursday, April 12th. Please do not stuff report cards in envelopes until Carla/Sarah have reviewed.
Location for Quarterly Planning
- We have been given a spot in a central location for this round of quarterly planning! All the sessions are in the CCSouth Building (Behind Horton Middle, immediately next to the gym. Come to the door at the top of the little paved parking lot for CSSouth) EXCEPT Kindergarten on March 28th. Kindergarten will be meeting in the Horton Professional Development Center (by the baseball field). If you have any questions, please let me know! Hope this will help with the drive! All quarterly planning sessions will begin at 8:00!
Summer Work with the Nature Trail Tutoring Center

Shout Outs!
Teacher shout out- I want to share a shout out from a parent for Ms. Abu-Sharr! The shout out is for her comforting and supporting a student dealing with loss/grief, communicating with family and sharing helpful resources to the parents. Thanks for helping our kids feel strong!
Shout out to Becky Whyte for all the work she has done to help NCE's World's Fair be a success! We are so thankful to have you working with us to ensure this tradition continues!

Shout out to Dawn and nurses from around the county for conducting vision screenings on all our 1st, 3rd and 5th graders!
Shout out to everyone that helped each other in so many ways Friday evening! It is awesome to see how NCE staff support each other when needs arise!
Thank you to Marilyn and Lynne for teaching a group of us about the sound system! We now have an AV committee! It is time for us to have a stationary sound system - big goals for 18-19!!! Thank you Val, Mel, and Mariana for learning about the system!
