Covid Information
- Student at-home Covid test kits were distributed on Friday January 14th.
- Absent students, or their parents, may pick up a test kit at the front desk.
- Please encourage your student to not open their test kit at school. Opened test kit's will not be replaced.
- If you are Covid+ please pick up your test kit after following appropriate quarantine procedures.
- Please refer to packaging instructions when using the at-home test kit. Please direct any questions about symptoms to your medical professional.
- If you test positive for Covid, please contact our school nurse Mrs. Dixon for guidance on school Covid protocols.
- Please continue to self screen for symptoms at home. Stay home if you are not feeling well. Contact our attendance office to clear your absence.
- If you need to work on assignments please check schoology, prior to contacting your teachers.
Ribbon Cutting and Dedication
The $8 million investment into these four buildings have resulted in creating:
- Dedicated space for Dance, Instrumental Music (including two practice rooms and storage), and Wrestling Programs
- Freshly designed locker rooms, visibly branded as "Orange Nation."
- Fully-equipped and branded, state of the art weight room
- Equipment storage areas and team rooms
- Temperature controlled heating and air in the Gymnasium
- and Dedicated athletic training room to support our Athletic Trainer and our fast-growing Career Technical Education pathway of Sports Medicine.
- Coupling these bond improvement with a new athletic turf replacement installed at our stadium and creation of an outdoor fitness yard adjacent to the gymnasium
Parents of current 9th-11th graders, please mark your calendars for our course selection parent info night on Thursday, January 27th @6pm. We will be reviewing the course selection process and covering grade level specific academic information. We hope you'll join us! This event will be held on campus and masks will be required.

Mask Mandates
- Students, Staff, Parents, and Guests, are required to wear a mask inside our building, classrooms, and Gym.
- Masks must be in place prior to entering the building. Masks must cover the nose and mouth.
- Students should bring a mask to school.
- Teachers and Administration may enforce masks compliance through detention, referrals, Saturday School, and Parent/Student conferences. Guests not wearing masks at indoor athletic events may be denied entry.
- Students should remain home if they are feeling symptoms or awaiting a COVID test result.
- If you receive a positive COVID test please contact Mrs. Dixon (Nurse) at (619) 593-5371.

Financial Aid Fridays
Financial Aid Fridays are back! Seniors, have you submitted your FAFSA or CA Dream Act Application yet? Make sure to file soon for your chance to be entered into our Financial Aid Friday drawings. Every week from now until the March 2nd deadline, counselors will draw the names of a couple seniors who have submitted their FAFSA or CADAA. The sooner you submit, the more opportunities you have to win!
9th and 10th grade students:
The College and Career Readiness department will be hosting their annual GUHSD CTE Career Pathway Fair on Saturday, January 29th, from 10:00am to 1:00pm at Grossmont Center in the Courtyard area. We would love to see you there!
