Introduction to PARCC
It stands for The Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC). It is a group of states that worked together to develop a set of assessments that measure whether students are on track to be successful in college and careers. The tests are designed to provide educators with a deeper understanding of how students learn. The PARCC tests are given annually in math and English language arts in grades 3-8 and are
structured to be taken online for a more interactive experience, but can also be taken with pencil and paper.
If you would like more information about PARCC, please go to http://parcconline.org/resources/parent-resources

An "Assessment Corner"
The MATH Inventory testing ( formerly known as Scholastic Math Inventory) is an On-line based assessment that measures mathematics achievement and growth. It provides one source of evidence about a student’s math achievement. Scores are reported using a measure called the Quantile® measure. This information can be used to monitor progress and set goals for instruction. Students in grades 2, 4 & 5 will be testing three times during the school year.
MAP-R (Measures of Academic Progress)
The Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®) is an assessment that delivers data stakeholders need to make a difference in student progress. This assessment will be given three times a year.
