Thomas Jefferson (1743- 1826) was the third U.S. President.

  1. During the American Revolution, Thomas Jefferson served in the Virginia legislature and Continental Congress and was governor of Virginia
  2. He was elected as delegate in the second continental congress, and he wrote the Declaration of Independence.
  3. He considered the Virginia statue for religious freedom after being reelected to the Virginia House of Burgesses.
