Parent-Teacher Conferences
Parent-Teacher Conference Dates & Times:
Wednesday, Oct 13th - 5:30-8pm
Thursday, Oct 14th - 12:15-3:30pm & 5:30-8pm
East China School District, grades 6-12, will be hosting parent-teacher conferences this year by teleconferencing, appointment only. We will be using the scheduling feature that can be found on Skyward Family Access as we have done in the past to schedule appointments. It is an opportunity for you to schedule your child’s conference(s) ahead of time with each teacher you feel you need to meet, but instead of meeting in the classroom, the teacher will call you at the set time. Included in this letter is a video link of how to schedule parent-teacher conferences.
The window for scheduling will open Wednesday, October 6th at 3:00pm.
Parent-Teacher Conference Scheduling with Skyward Family Access
Here’s how to make an online appointment:
1. Log on to Skyward Family Access. (If you have forgotten your Skyward password, you can request to have your information emailed to you by clicking the “Forgot Password” link below the login.)
2. Click the Conferences link on the left hand side. Click All Conferences to see all teachers for which you may schedule conferences.
3. To view the available times, choose Select a Time next to each teacher with which you wish to schedule a conference.
4. From the available times listed choose the date/time you want by clicking Select.
5. Confirm your time choice by reviewing the information and clicking Save.
6. Once you choose times, the space marked Status will begin to fill in with your choices. Repeat steps 2 through 5 to add more times.
7. When you have finished making your appointments, click Print All Scheduled Conferences to keep a copy for your records.
If you make a mistake or your plans change, you can remove a time from the schedule. At any time prior to the reservation deadline, you can log back in, click Teacher Conferences and click Unschedule in the View Scheduled Times window. It will ask you to confirm, so click Save if you are sure you want to unschedule that time. (If you’re not seeing “Unschedule”, click the View Scheduled Times link next to the student’s name.) This will return the time slot back to the queue and allow you to select another time for that teacher.
Conference schedule for this year (grades 6-12):
Wednesday, October 13th Conferences: 5:30 pm until 8:00 pm
Thursday, October 14th Conferences: 12:15 pm until 3:30 pm and 5:30 pm until 8:00pm
We look forward to talking to you at parent-teacher conferences.

MCHS Honored by GreatSchools.org
● We are proud to announce that Marine City High School has been awarded GreatSchools.org’s inaugural College Success Award - Gold!
● As a recipient of the annual College Success Award over the past years our school was eligible to receive the first-ever Gold distinction for our multiyear track record of preparing students to enroll and succeed in college.
● We’re thrilled to be one of only 1,770 schools in 26 states to earn the new College Success Award - Gold for our ongoing dedication to students’ success.
● We want to thank and celebrate our leaders, teachers, students, and families that have made this honor possible.
● With an estimated 70% of all jobs requiring a postsecondary education by 2027, we know that our students need to not just graduate high school, but also be well-positioned to persist throughout their postsecondary education.
● That’s why we’re honored to receive the College Success Award - Gold. It shows that we have an ongoing commitment to helping our students succeed while they’re here, while also equipping them to be successful when they leave our doors to embark on college and careers.

Temporary Discount on Broadband Internet Bills
Temporary Discount on Broadband Internet Bills
The Emergency Broadband Benefit Program is a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) program that provides a temporary discount on monthly broadband internet bills for qualifying low-income households. If your household is eligible, you can receive:
· Up to a $50/month discount on your broadband service and associated equipment rentals
· A one-time discount of up to $100 for a laptop, tablet, or desktop computer (with a co-payment of more than $10 but less than $50)
Only one monthly service discount and one device discount is allowed per household.
The FCC has announced that consumers can begin applying for and enrolling in the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program on May 12, 2021. The program will end when the fund runs out of money, or six months after the Department of Health and Human Services declares an end to the COVID-19 health emergency, whichever is sooner. Details about the program, qualifications, and directions to apply can be found in the following links.
