Lettuce Grow!

At FSI Middle, students are fully engaged in Ms. Rumph's class with the Lettuce Grow hydroponic growing system. This system exposes students to STEM in multiple ways, from understanding how a sustainable system works to grow plants and calculating correct nutrients and water levels to using problem-solving skills to discover issues with plants and make changes and tweaks to help determine what could have gone wrong. Students are currently growing lettuce, spinach, cilantro and arugula. Students voted and next they will be growing strawberries and tomatoes.

Chit Chat with Students!

On April 12th, we asked FSI Elementary students a few questions. Here's what they told us!

Home Visits

Teachers and school staff have visited 501 students in 452 homes since the start of the 2021-22 school year.

Home visits are paramount in bridging cultural gaps that might exist. These visits also provide opportunities for staff to understand their students better by visiting them in their home environments.

A SHOUT-OUT to our teachers & staff! Thank you for everything you do!
