Wow...this was a busy week at Norris!! We successfully made it through STAAR testing! Many of our students came adorned in their cultural outfits and paraded around our campus to kick off our Multicultural Day! Thank you for sharing your different cultures with our students!

Multicultural Night
On April 12th Norris Elementary celebrated the great diversity of our nation and school. The morning started with a parade around the school showing off clothes worn by different cultures and countries. During specials all the students rotated through stations to learn about the countries displayed. To finish off this exciting day, families came to Norris from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. to share all the research completed on the different countries.
Thank you to our students who dressed up for our parade and made amazing presentations. A BIG thank you to our Multicultural Night Committee, led by Mrs. Vandercook, who worked so hard to make sure we had an amazing night!

Norris Spring Carnival
We are one week away from the Norris Carnival! Wristbands and Tickets are on sale now. Send the order form in with your payment by Wednesday, April 18th to take advantage of our $5.00 wristband special.
Tug-o-War Contest ... Which class will earn a spot to play in the Tug-o-War contest at the Carnival? The top two classes in each grade level who collects the most amount of money will have the honor of participating in Tug-O-War. Look under your cushions, in your car, and start collecting those dollar bills. Collections start this Monday, April 16th through Wednesday, April 18th.
Cake Walk Donations start on Thursday, April 19th through Friday, April 20th. We will have volunteers during the morning and afternoon car pool as well as at the front drive for our walkers. Please bring us your store bought favorite cakes, cookies, brownies, cupcakes, or anything sweet! We will need LOTS of baked goods to use for the Cake Walk.
Our food vendor for the Carnival is Dilla's Primo Quesadilla's. They will be ready to serve you with delicious hot food to enjoy! Dilla's will donate 15% of the sales back to the Norris PTA. Their menu is below.

FIELD DAY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Norris' 3rd annual Field Day is coming soon! To make it a success, we need volunteer help! Three people per grade are needed for each shift. First come first serve.
Please fill out the volunteer form by following the link below. Please indicate your availability for Field Day on Friday, May 11th. All volunteers need to have completed a background check for this school year, and need to be able to stay for the whole shift. We will contact you with your Field Day assignment. Thanks for your help!

STAAR Information
- NO Visitors or Volunteers will be allowed on campus for any grade level on STAAR Simulation or Testing dates.
- Please have your students to school on time, and refrain from scheduling appointments on these dates. Testing begins in the morning.

2018-2019 NORRIS SCHOOL SUPPLIES
Norris Elementary offers the EduKit program as a convenient option for busy families to order your student’s school supplies for the 2018/2019 year. EduKits are custom made to include the supplies selected and approved by our school and shipping is FREE!
Your student’s order will be available at Meet the Teacher day, if you order by June 15.
Extended online ordering is available through EduKit’s Last Chance program from June 16 – July 27. Last Chance orders are subject to additional fee and will be delivered to your home shortly before school begins.
REMINDER: Order kits for the grade your student(s) will be entering in the 2018/2019 school year.

Get ready for an exciting family evening of fun and games. Come out to the Norris Carnival from 5-8pm on Friday, April 20th. Pre-orders for tickets and Wristbands are due Wednesday, April 18th.

ATTENTION 3RD, 4TH, AND 5TH GRADE PARENTS
The FISD Elementary Music Department would like to invite you to a camp focusing on learning music and having fun performing. This camp is open for students currently in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades in Frisco ISD. Students will learn choreography moves, singing techniques, and performance skills. We are so excited to announce that we will be performing the music from the Broadway shows ANNIE and NEWSIES this year!!!!!! This camp is provided for you the week of June 4-7th. On Thursday, there will be a fantastic performance starring ALL campers.
