SUMMIT ELEMENTARY'S VIRTUAL TALENT SHOW
Here is how it will work:
1. Think of a talent you may have..... you could be singing a song, dancing, doing a sport, showing a card or magic trick. Maybe you know how to do something really cool with your bike, a skateboard, or a baton for example! It could be something you do alone or with someone from your family!
2.Practice, practice, practice your talent until you feel like you are ready to record it.
3. At the beginning of the recording, tell us your name and grade or teacher. Then show us the talent. Please make sure your talent lasts no more than 3 minutes. It could be a quick 5 second talent as well! Anything will work!
4. Please email the video to summittalentshow2020@gmail.com
5. The last day to submit a talent video will be Monday, April 20th at 9:00 am.
6. Once completed, we will upload all of the videos into a Youtube channel we have created for this and then we will share out the link to the channel to all of you to enjoy! The channel will only be accessible to those with the link and it will not be made public so someone could search for it.
If you have any questions, please email summittalentshow2020@gmail.com
We can't wait to see all these talents!
THANK YOU FOR SENDING PICTURES!
HERE IS WHAT SUMMIT VIRTUAL LEARNING IS LOOKING LIKE!
APRIL 1ST HAT DAY FUN!
APRIL 2nd DRESS UP DAY FUN!
Summit Students Practice Kindness At Home
SIGN YOUR CHILD UP FOR A ONE ON ONE CONFERENCE WITH ONE OF OUR SPECIALISTS
Mr. Dirkmann--PE
Mrs. Berg-music
Ms. LaGrange--art
Mrs. Harrop--library/STEM
Ms. Jens--Guidance
Just as you will start to see from your child's classroom teacher in the coming days (if not already) our specialists want to give an option to meet with your child 1:1 in order to help them with anything they have assigned them up to this date OR to help them grow in an area which your child is looking to grow. For example, maybe your child wants to learn how to sign a new song...... sign them up for a conference with Mrs. Berg at some point this week. Maybe your child wants to share their artwork and learn a new technique with painting...........sign them up for a conference with ms. LaGrange. Maybe your child is dying to learn more about coding or other STEM related activities or sites............sign them up for a session with Mrs. Harrop. Of course, Mr. Dirkmann can help them get active! And finally, if your child is dying to just touch base with Ms. Jens, they can do that too!
All of these are optional, but they are opportunities for your child to connect on a one on one basis with more of our Summit staff!
As many of you know, Summit School was planning on having Terri Field, artist-in-residence, help our students to make a mural for the train tunnel located in downtown Oconomowoc, after our break (follow this link for more details). Terri Field, along with Anne Raskopf and Abigail Enstrand that will be working with all 5 elementary schools, are on hold with brushes in hand for when school is in session again. You may want to take a walk through the tunnel, GOOGLE Maps link, with your family and imagine how the tunnel will look embellished with art made by Summit Artists! Choo, Choo!
The mural will illustrate the long history of train travel to Oconomowoc and the present train traffic throughout the city. Specifically, the train was designed by renowned Wisconsin artist Brooks Stevens, Twin Cities Hiawatha, that traveled from Chicago to the Twin Cities stopping in Oconomowoc will be featured in the mural. Along with trains, imagery will include, passengers of various ages and nationalities, train signs, tracks, sky, the Oconomowoc Depot and city landscape.
Thank you to the Imagine a Day Courtney Bella Foundation and Orbis Corporation for funding the mural and for their continued support of the Oconomowoc School District GROW Art Experiences encouraging our students to design, make and appreciate the visual arts!
BRIGHTEN SOMEONE'S DAY WITH A LITTLE STUDENT ARTWORK!
We would like to extend an invitation to our Summit Families to help support future artist in residence experiences for our students by purchasing merchandise from ARTSONIA adorned by your child's art. Twenty percent of all proceeds are returned to Summit to be used for visits by professional artists and/or art supplies!
All families have received a link to ARTSONIA to sign up so if you haven't already please follow the link: https://www.artsonia.com/schools/school.asp?id=92489 to register your child today.
