At Simmons Elementary School, We're Better Together

The day before Thanksgiving, our fifth grade classes participated in the 3rd Annual Turkey Bowl at the high school stadium. Students qualified to play by scoring 10 points in Accelerated Reading quizzes. The five classes enjoyed the friendly competition and camaraderie, then went inside to warm up with hot chocolate. Congratulations to the students in Ms. Milardo's homeroom for winning the championship game!

Toy Donations

Students in Mrs. Hrabyk and Mrs. Rappaport’s group at Simmons Elementary are asking for your support. They have been working hard to create a new play room experience for all children here at school. With the holidays quickly approaching, what better way to make room for the new than to donate your gently used toys to this great cause? From 12-5-19 to 1-24-19 you can drop off any new or gently used toy, board game, or indoor sports equipment that is appropriate for preschool through 5th grade, in the front lobby. Look for a box labeled TOY DONATIONS. If you have any questions, please contact Andrea Hrabyk ( or Ashley Rappaport ( Thank you!

Volunteer Information

Any adult who will be in the classrooms (for any reason) or for field trips are required to have a volunteer photo i.d. badge issued by the Hatboro-Horsham School District. The required clearances are free and any adult (including parents, grandparents and other family members) can complete the process. The volunteer credentials are good for five years. We appreciate the time and commitment that our volunteers offer to enhance our school! Here's the link to the district website which includes all the information about volunteer clearances:
