Information for All Students
- Start of Quarter 4 (Q4): Monday, March 20, is the first day of the 4th 9 weeks (Q4).
- 2023-2024 Classes that Require Applications: Please see the requirements and due dates for the classes listed below that require students to submit applications. (The application deadline for Health Science Hospital Internship Program and Work-Based Learning Program has passed.)
- Marching Band Colorguard Packets: Students who are interested in participating in Marching Band Colorguard must see Ms. Deanna Marshall in the Band room (Building 3) to pick up a packet of information. There is a $25 clinic/audition fee due by Thursday, March 23, (no exceptions).
- Majorette Line Packets: Students who are interested in participating in Majorette Line must see Ms. Emma Vaters in room 1228 to pick up a packet of information. There is a $25 clinic/audition fee due by Thursday, March 23, (no exceptions).
- Teaching I Applications: Students who are interested in applying for Teaching 1 for the 2023-2024 school year must pick up an application from Mrs. Echols in room 3129. The deadline for submission is Friday, March 31.
- School Publications/Yearbook Applications Students who are interested in applying for the 2023-2024 School Publications/Yearbook class must pick up an application from Ms. Adrienne Hames. She is in room 1324 1st and 2nd blocks and room 1226 4th block. The deadline for submission is Friday, March 31.
- Summer School Registration: AHS Summer School registration is open and request forms are in the Counseling Office. Students may stop by before or after school to get their forms approved by a counselor. The deadline to submit the request form is Friday, March 31. Once approved, the deadline to pay for summer course(s) is Monday, May 1. Payment should be made through MySchoolBucks.
- AHS Varsity Football: Any current student who was not on the team in 2022 or who is not currently in the 1st football class must see Coach Ramsey in room 1229 by Monday, April 3 to discuss participation in spring practice/tryouts.
- Annual AHS World's Fair: This year's AHS World's Fair will be held on Thursday, March 30 in the AHS Cafeteria from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The World’s Fair is an opportunity to share and celebrate family cultures and the global diversity within the AHS community.
- AHS Students and Families who are interested in being a part of our annual AHS World’s Fair can still sign up using the links below! The deadline to sign up is Wednesday, March 22. Don’t miss this chance to represent your country as part of this fun and unique celebration! Contact any AHS World Language teacher or Samantha Shipman for more information.
- Miracle League Volunteer Opportunity: Miracle League of East Alabama is looking for volunteers who will be Buddies for special needs students and their families during fun sports activities on Saturdays this spring. Please visit the website for additional information, and contact Michelle Dean at eamiracleleague@gmail.com to sign up as a volunteer, receive additional information, and/or ask questions.
- Auburn CityFest Volunteer Opportunity: The Auburn CityFest Committee is recruiting energetic individuals, organizations, and service groups to help make CityFest great, and they reached out to AHS for volunteer recruitment. Any student who volunteers earns community service hours, along with lunch and a free t-shirt if they work two or more shifts!
- Auburn CityFest will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Kiesel Park from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will include live music, arts and crafts, art exhibitors, children activities and much more. CityFest will be held rain or shine.

- FFA and HOSA Fern Fundraiser: AHS's FFA and HOSA are teaming up this year for the Boston Fern Sale! Ferns are $20 and can be purchased from any HOSA or FFA member. Payment can only be cash or check. The deadline to purchase is Monday, March 27. Ferns will be available for pick up at AHS behind Building 3 (enter through the student parking lot, not the front of the school entrance, and look for the garage doors) on April 5 and April 6 from 10:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. Please see the flyer for additional details.
- The Sheet's ART Competition: AHS’s literary and art magazine is hosting an ART competition with a “lovely” theme. Please use the QR code in the image to get additional information and submit. The Sheet is accepting submissions through Tuesday, March 21. Students with questions can email thesheetauburn@gmail.com or see Ms. Muschara in room 1343.
- The Sheet's T-Shirt Sale: The Sheet is also now selling “AHS: We are The Sheet” shirts for $15 through Saturday, April 15. Shirts can be purchased using this MySchoolBucks link. Proceeds from the shirts will be supporting the magazine printing, contest prizes and activities. Your support is greatly appreciated!
- AHS Summer Youth Cheer Camp: AHS Varsity Cheer is hosting a Summer Youth Cheer Camp for ages 4 through rising 7th grade. The camp will be held Tuesday, May 30, through Thursday, June 1, from 8:15 a.m.-11:30 a.m. in the AHS Gymnasium. Additional details are included on the flyer and MySchoolBucks links.
- The registration deadline is Wednesday, May 17, but registration is limited so sign up today!
- Seussical the Musical: AHS Performing Arts will present Seussical the Musical Friday and Saturday, April 14 and 15, at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, April 15 and 16, at 2:30 p.m. in the AHS Auditorium. Tickets will be $10 and are available for purchase on MySchoolBucks. Links to MySchoolBucks can be found at www.auburnperformingarts.com/ahstheatre.
Information for Seniors
- Cap and Gown Photos: Seniors will have the opportunity to have their cap and gown photos taken Tuesday, March 21 in the AHS auditorium. Students must sign up for an appointment time by either using this link or scanning the QR code in the image.
- The photography company will have caps and gowns for students to wear in these photos.
- Balfour will deliver student caps and gowns to AHS in late April, and information about pick up will be communicated as that date approaches.
- Additionally, there will be a photographer at the graduation ceremony.
- D1 Life Foundation Scholarship: The D1 Life Foundation was established in loving memory of Dylan Pegues, shortly after his death in June of 2022. Every year the D1 Life Foundation provides deserving high school students with a $2,000 scholarship. It provides students with an opportunity to achieve their higher education dreams. Students who receive this scholarship have demonstrated their academic achievements and their passion for living an intentional life at the highest level.
- Applicants must be high school seniors planning to enroll in a full-time accredited program at a two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational- technical school located in the United States. They must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale at the time of application.

- College Decision and Scholarship Verification: All graduating seniors planning to enroll in a 2- or 4-year institution must complete and submit the attached College Decision and Scholarship Verification report for the Class of 2023. Please note: Final records may be withheld pending submission. Priority deadline is Friday, April 21. Final deadline is Friday, May 5. Please submit completed form/paperwork to AHS's Mr. James Tindell, College Coordinator, in room 1210. Please also refer all questions regarding this form to Mr. Tindell.
- NHS Service Hours: It’s time for current seniors to submit their service hours.
- Students inducted during their junior year need to submit 20 service hours by April 30th.
- Students inducted this year, their senior year, need to submit 10 service hours by April 30th.
- A submission space is open now on Schoology. Students can complete the log with hours they've done and can add hours they do between now and the deadline.
- If anyone needs a printed copy of the log, please stop by room 1227. There will be a folder with paper copies outside the door. Please see or message Ms. Hopf if you have questions or concerns.
Information for Sophomores
- Lee County Young Leaders Applications: The 2023-2024 Lee County Young Leaders Application is now available for current sophomores who will be juniors during the 2023-2024 school year.
- Lee County Young Leaders is a county-wide program that aims to nurture and develop positive leadership qualities in high school juniors by giving them the knowledge, tools, and contacts to become successful leaders in the community!
- All applicants must submit their applications (linked here) by Friday, April 14, 2023, to be considered.

- National Honor Society Dues: NHS dues are now being accepted. Please see the update from Ms. Snyder on the NHS Schoology page for details.
- AHS FFA Service Project: AHS FFA students need your help! They are collecting items for the Lee County Humane Society. Please see the image for the items they are collecting. Drop-off box locations on AHS's campus are Ms. Faulk's classroom, room 1008 in the basement, and Mr. Stevens's classroom, room 3130 in building 3. The collection drive ends Friday, April 14.
- AHS Mini Camps: The AHS majorettes are hosting Mini Camp again this summer, and this year will also include a flag/colorguard camp option! Mini Camp will be held Wednesday - Friday, June 14-16 at AHS in the auxiliary gym. Campers can sign up for one OR both camps. Flag camp will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a lunch break from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and then majorette camp from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- The campers will learn basic twirls, a short routine, and hang out/play games with the high school majorettes and colorguard. There will also be a show-and-tell performance on Wednesday at pick up.
- Registration opens Saturday, April 1. The cost is $100 for one camp or $180 for both camps.
