Updates for the Week
Here are some updates for the week of March 1-5. Wednesday, March 3 is an early release day for all students. We will dismiss school at 12:30.
There have been some school calendar changes due to recent inclement weather. Friday, March 19 will remain a remote learning day for all students, but Monday, March 22 is now a regular student day.
This week we are celebrating Read Across America week. This week celebrates great children’s books and authors and the importance of reading every day. We have special activities planned each day including some fun dress up days. Please see ClassDojo for full details, but we will begin with pajama day on Monday. Tuesday is hat and tie-dye day, Wednesday is wacky tacky crazy hair day, Thursday is team spirit day, and Friday is favorite book character day. We will launch a 25-day reading challenge this week as well. We look forward to a fun week.
We need your help to keep our carline safe. We’ve had several near collisions caused by cars who try to pass in morning carline. Our parking lot can only accommodate one lane of traffic safely. Pre-K parents who have dropped off their children will need to join the regular carline and wait through the line. If the car in front of you is slow, please be patient. We apologize for any delay, but keeping everyone safe is our highest priority. We have set up cones as a reminder not to pass.
As a reminder, masks are required for all students, staff, and visitors to our campus at all times. This rule applies to arrival and dismissal tImes, and students must wear masks until they are off campus or safely on cars. If you choose to walk your child to the building or use the afternoon walker line, please make sure to wear and mask and observe social distancing. Thank you in advance for your help.
The third quarter ends on March 19. We will continue to offer daily in person instruction and remote only instruction for families who request it for the remainder of the year. If you wish to make a change, please complete the form on ClassDojo by Friday.

About Attendance
Parents, please note that since we have moved to Plan A, students who are participating in Plan A will be marked PRESENT or ABSENT. If your child is not in school, you will need to send in absence notes as usual and it will be coded as excused or unexcused. If your child is officially quarantined or excluded by the health department and/or the school nurse, your teacher will offer remote learning. If your child participates and submits work each day, the student will be marked PRESENT OFF SITE (1R). If not, the quarantine absences would be excused. If your child needs to be out, we will work with you to make sure your child doesn't get behind.
For students who continue with remote learning note that in order for us to count your child in attendance off site, we must on a daily basis verify that the student is engaged (completing and submitting assignments), on pace (participating in the virtual classroom), or receiving academic/emotional support (directly from the teacher). If this isn't happening, your child will be counted absent. Please make sure that your child is submitting work and that you are communicating with the teacher daily. Thanks in advance for your help!
