Weber School Newsletter
4th August 2022 - Week 2
Principal's Piece
Tena Koutou Katoa Weber Whanau,
I hope everyone is well, it has been great to see the sun this week and get outside. This week rugby and basketball games are the favourites to play.
This week we started our environment projects as part of our school wide inquiry on sustainability. The students are working on beeswax wraps to sell, bird feeders, upcycling and making bug hotels. We have been very lucky to secure two staff from REAP who are also coming in at this time to work with the students as well.
For the first time our Senior class and the Year 5's from Room 2 started their first session learning the game Ki o Rahi. Some pictures of the students in action are below.
The House Captains were busy yesterday organising a Teddy Bears picnic and game afternoon for Room 1. This was all planned and organised by them. A movie and milkshake sundaes were also included which was a great hit by everyone!! The House Captains are already thinking about their next event in Room 2.
Great work Reece, Hinemona, Patch and Myles.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the outgoing Board of Trustees for all of their hard work, time and support over their time as a board members. My sincere thanks for being so dedicated to creating an environment that enables our students to learn and aspire. To the new board members welcome and I am looking forward to working with you.
Please note the office is unmanned on Fridays. Please ring the school office for any bus / car changes, messages will be checked through the day.
Many thanks
Lisa
