TERM DATES
Please check the community calendar for upcoming and future dates as the calendar is regularly updated.
FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents
For centuries, the Catholic Church has set aside the entire month of Mary to honour Mary, Mother of God. Our teachers are spending some time in class this month teaching the children to pray the Hail Mary and The Rosary. Thank you to Year One children for leading us all in our first performance assembly for the year with a focus on Mothers. It was wonderful to see the Year One parents and grandparents join us for the assembly. It’s great to have the community back!
The PP children shared their first special liturgy with us last week too where they honoured our mother Mary and all mothers.
PCPS Family Mass - change of date
All PCPS families are invited to celebrate a special family Mass at Our Lady of the Mission on Sunday, June 26 at 11.00am. At this Mass the families from Padbury CPS will be participating in all parts of the Mass along with the parish community. We are keen for parents as well as children to participate in the Mass. Some of the areas you can help in include - Altar serving; reading; lighting candles; singing with the choir; guitar playing; cooking and serving sausages, tea and coffee. We are fortunate to have Mrs Woodall and Mrs Twine assisting with the music for this Mass but would love for you to join in. Information has been sent out on how to register to help. Big thanks to Severine Gibson, Simone Harding, Rafaela Rogers and Lauren Giuffre for all their hard work in preparing for this special celebration.
Sacrament of Confirmation
Please keep the Year Six children in your prayers as they are in the final stages of preparation to receive the sacrament of Confirmation. They will soon take part in their Confirmation Retreat Day where they are able to spend time reflecting the sacrament they are about to receive, forming a deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit who is nurturing their hearts. On 11 and 12 June, the children will receive the sacrament at Our Lady of the Mission Church.
National Sorry Day
National Sorry Day is a day to acknowledge the strength of Stolen Generations Survivors and reflect on how we can all play a part in the healing process for our people and nation. While this date carries great significance for the Stolen Generations and other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, it is also commemorated by Australians right around the country.
Enrol now for PK and K 2023 and 2024 and beyond
Enrolment interviews are now taking place for Pre Kindy and Kindergarten 2023, 2024, 2025.
If you have a child who is due for Pre Kindy or Kindy in 2023 or 2024, please ensure that your application has been received by the office so that you have a place secured.
If you have friends and neighbours with children in these age brackets, please encourage them to view our school website and submit an application.
School Tours
Padbury CPS is a school of choice in the area and as such we want to tell everyone about our amazing school community. We run school tours twice a term and encourage prospective families to come and take a look at what we have to offer. If you know of anyone looking to start school or someone who wishes to change school, please encourage them to visit our school website and book into one of these school tours.
Extra Curricular
Padbury Catholic Primary students are blessed with a variety of optional extra-curricular activities that are both supported and encouraged by the school, its teachers and the school community.
Whether students have a passion for music or sport, there is a program that will challenge, develop and nurture each child. These activities are also a chance to deepen school friendships and to represent the school in a range of community-based activities such as -
Swimming, Running and Netball Clubs
MBA after school sport

FROM THE ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS
ADMINISTRATION
NAPLAN
Well done to our Year 3 and 5 classes on completing the NAPLAN tests. Due to Covid absences affecting students test numbers, SCSA (School Curriculum and Standards Authority) have extended the test window to allow school to try and provide catch up tests for those who were isolating during the test week last week. Writing catch up was completed today, and all other tests catch up sessions will be held next week. If students are away on the day of the catch up test, it will not be possible to make up the test on another day.
