Holy Family Spotlight: H&S
Recently the school spotlighted the Class of 2022 Graduates. For this newsletter, the administration would like to put the spotlight on another special class of people – our H&S volunteers! Our Home & School Association plays an important role in the vibrancy and success of Holy Family Regional Catholic School, and we would like to recognize and applaud them for their efforts.
The Home & School Association is a vibrant and integral part of HFRCS. They truly make our school community a “family”. They volunteer tirelessly for the benefit of our students, faculty and you, the parents.
The many fundraising events, sponsored by the H&S are not just to provide a fun activity or night out for our families. These events enable the H&S to partner with the school and contribute to the annual operating budget. After a successful year, the H&S was able to contribute $20,000 toward the school for 2021-2022. This direct financial support helps to keep tuition rates stable for our families which we are very grateful for.
In addition to contributing funding toward the cost of operating the school, the H&S Association greatly enhances the overall atmosphere at Holy Family by the many activities and experiences they create for our students and staff. The thoughtfulness of the H&S volunteers is hard to describe; they are a very dedicated and special group of people. The H&S members are constantly asking what they can do for the students and staff to brighten their day or make happy memories of their time at Holy Family.
The students will remember activities like Bingos, the skate party, the magic show during Catholic School Week and the recent movie night complete with pizza. Near the top of the list is how fun and festive the H&S made Spirit Day by bringing in an ice cream truck!! They even surprised the 8th graders with gift cards for their Hershey Park trip. They decorated for events like the Hawk Walk and all the graduations this year.
The H&S didn’t forget about the teachers and staff. We enjoyed breakfasts, lunches and treats throughout the year. Those appreciation cookies were adorable and delicious. We also received special t-shirts courtesy of the H&S. One of the thoughtful acts that was most appreciated by the admin staff was when the H&S volunteers would do the morning car line. It was a simple yet generous gesture that provided a nice break for the staff. They didn’t even complain if it was cold or rainy and they got a few of those days!
Their thoughtfulness extended even beyond the students and staff. The H&S extended their goodness to several families who experienced tragedies during this year. They contributed to Camilla Hall to honor Sister Marilou for her years of service at Holy Family and supported the Brian David Golf event by sponsoring a hole to benefit the Holy Family Fund.
The H&S truly spread joy by their enthusiasm as they lifted the spirits of our school community throughout the year by their tireless efforts and generosity. We at Holy Family are blessed to have such a special group of dedicated volunteers.
We ask our families to continue to support the efforts of our Home & School Association. Consider volunteering for one of the many events they sponsor throughout the year (Bingo, raffles, plant sales, Fritz’s). Plan to attend a H&S meeting next year and remember to take a moment to thank a H&S volunteer for all they do to support our school. They would welcome and appreciate your help and support.
Congratulations to another successful year. Thank you for all you do. We are eternally grateful.
