The Lady Trojans defeated Huffman last night 55-19! The team now has a record of 26-3 with only one more regular season game next week against Sparkman. Way to go, Lady Trojans!!

Seniors, mark your calendars! Senior Breakfast and Senior Awards Day are scheduled for May 15th. The breakfast will be at 8 a.m. followed by awards at 9 a.m.

Senior Cap & Gown Pictures: Senior cap and gown pictures are scheduled for Tuesday, January 29th, during 1st and 2nd block.
HGHS Curriculum Night: Mark your calendars for January 31st and join us for HGHS Curriculum Night! Curriculum Night will be held in the main gym from 5-7 p.m. This is a great way to decide which courses you would like to take next year and throughout high school. You will have the opportunity to talk to teachers and students to get real insight into the courses that interest you. This is also a great time to talk to club sponsors and coaches about extracurricular activities you might want to participate in next year. Current 8th graders/rising freshmen are welcome and encouraged to attend!
AP Exam Fees: AP Exam fees are due by January 31st. Fees can be paid online at MySchoolFees.
Yearbooks: Yearbooks are currently for sale on MySchoolFees or with Ms. DeHart (S114). To reserve a copy, purchase by January 31st. Yearbooks are $65.
Prom Tickets: Prom tickets are on sale for $60 until Friday, February 1. Starting Monday, February 4, the price will increase to $75. See Mrs. Dean (C110) or Mrs. Bell (S137) to purchase.

ACT for JUNIORS: All HGHS JUNIORS will take the ACT on Wednesday, February 20th. All HGHS JUNIORS will complete demographics for the ACT on Wednesday, February 13th. We need all juniors to be at school on these two days in order to complete this assessment. Juniors who go to morning tech will stay on campus on February 13th and 20th.
Students will need to bring a valid photo ID on both days and an approved calculator on the 20th. For a list of approved calculators, visit www.actstudent.org. No backpacks or electronic devices will be allowed in the testing rooms. If students decide to bring their backpack or electronic device, we will store them outside the testing room.
For all other students, February 13th and 20th will be regular school days.
Baseball T-Shirts: Here is an opportunity for Trojan fans to proudly support our reigning state baseball champs! The baseball team is selling T-shirts for $20. The shirts are Nike cotton (short sleeve), and sizes range from youth large to adult XXL. Color options are red, gray, and black. Students can see Coach Perez in C209 to purchase. Thank you for your support!
Sock Sale to Benefit National Pediatric Cancer Foundation: HOSA is selling socks for $5. One dollar from each sale will be donated to the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation. See Mrs. Thomson or a HOSA member to purchase.
Soccer Fundraiser: The soccer team is selling clear bags that are size and style approved for Huntsville City Schools' sporting events. The clear tote bags are 12"x6"x12" and have the HG logo on them. They are $15 each and can be purchased through MySchoolFees. Students can also purchase them by seeing Coach Lilavois, Coach Balash, or Coach Williams.

Career Tech Center Application: The Madison County Career Tech Center application for the 2019-2020 school year is now open! Apply now to be enrolled in the program of your choice! Parent Meetings with Mrs. Jagielski: Mrs. Jagielski, HGHS College & Career Counselor, would like to invite parents of students in ALL grades to meet with her about anything related to college and career. Please use the link below to sign up for a parent meeting (with or without your student).

Revision to Pre-Approved Absence Policy- Students requesting pre-approved, excused absences will need to turn the form in to Mrs. Sharp at least 20 days before the planned absence. Forms can be found on the school website.
Procedure for Riding the Bus with a Friend - Any student who plans to ride home on a bus with a friend or to another address should follow the procedures below. No student will be allowed to ride to a different address without verification of parent/guardian approval by a school official.
1. A parent/guardian note should be turned in before first block to the receptionist desk at the back of school. The note should contain the address and information for the bus driver and should include the date and a correct phone number for verification purposes.
2. Pick up the verified note from the receptionist during lunch.
3. Give the note to the bus driver when entering the bus at the end of the school day.
Parenting Assistance Line: PAL is a service where anyone can call a toll free number 1-866-962-3030 and receive useful, practical information and assistance with developmental and parenting questions and concerns. Available 8:00am – 8:00pm (central time) Monday – Friday.
Recycle: Going green at “the Green”. The Hazel Green High School Special Education Department needs your old cell phones and ink cartridges. Items to be recycled can be given to a Special Education teacher or left for collection at the office. Your support of our recycling fundraiser is greatly appreciated.
Reward Cards: Parents/Students/Employees, please remember to use your reward cards when you visit Publix and Hazel Green Pharmacy. Every time you have them swipe your card, HGHS will receive a portion of the sale. If you need a reward card, just stop by the main office to pick one up.

Driver’s permit: Students /Parents, remember to pick up the Student Enrollment Form before you go to get your permit. The driver’s license department will not allow you to take the test unless you have this form and it cannot be faxed after you get there. These forms are good for 10 days only.
Loyalty Reward Tags: (Hazel Green Pharmacy Loyalty Key Tag Program) Parents/Students/Employees, please remember to use your loyalty key tag when you visit Hazel Green Pharmacy. Every time you purchase a Prescription/Gift/OTC have them swipe your tag. HGHS will receive a portion of the sale. If you need a loyalty key tag. Just stop by the main office to pick one up.
