November Newsletter 2021

Thanksgiving Time Blessings

As we count our blessings this Thanksgiving Season, we want our GUMC Preschool families to know just how much we appreciate your friendship and support. Your continuing cooperation and flexibility in helping us to follow the guidelines for preventing the spread of COVID has been greatly appreciated as we navigate another difficult year. We couldn't do this without your understanding, care and consideration for the GUMC Preschool Community. Speaking of which, as the holidays approach, we ask that you take a look at, and follow the CDC guidance found below in this newsletter, and - putting in a plug for the flu shot here - if you haven't yet gotten yours yet, we encourage you to consider it as another safeguard during these uncertain times. Thank you all again for making compromises and wise decisions that help keep GUMC safe!

Finally, thank you for sharing the blessings of your children with us every day at GUMC Preschool! We consider each and every one of them a gift from God and thank Him for the love, laughter and learning that they bring to our lives. We know the decision to put your child in another's care is one of the biggest decisions you will make as a parent, and we truly want to thank you for trusting us with this responsibility - especially during the pandemic. We value our relationship with you and are so grateful that you are part of our school community!

We wish you and your families a Happy Thanksgiving and season of Good Health and Happiness!
Miss Kim

Facebook's Giving Tuesday 2021

The sun is setting sooner. The leaves are changing colors and falling to the ground. The smell of autumn and Pumpkin Spice is in the air. Our thoughts turn to football, turkey dinners, sweaters, and of course, Black Friday! Once again, GUMC is asking its community to join in the generous spirit of the season by supporting our fall fundraising efforts. In the past, fundraising monies have been used to update the playground, build a new tree house, replace an old laminator and purchase an intercom system. Please consider giving through our Facebook page on Tuesday, November 30th beginning at 8:00am. Facebook will be matching up to $8M of the first donations received to non-profits such as GUMC Preschool. Find the link to our Facebook page here and like it for further communication and to make your donation!

Safer Ways to Celebrate Holidays

Why This Toy?

Toys are an important part of every child’s life. It is a wonderful feeling to give the right toy. Choosing the right toy from among the many possibilities can be very rewarding to both adult and child. All of you most likely received Amazon's annual Kid's Gift Book back in early October. So many choices. How do you decide? The following link will take you to an article written for naeyc (National Association for the Education of Young Children) that discusses considerations when thinking of purchasing a toy.
