Week of August 22: COVID Updates

For the week of August 22, here are the current Chartwell guidelines:

  • Indoor masking will be strongly recommended but not required beginning August 22

  • Testing will be offered by request. Please send an email to Roz Harris if you would like your child tested for COVID.

  • If you are new Chartwell family and have not registered your child for on-campus testing and wish to have this as an option, please register here: New Student Testing Registration Link

You can find more information about the CDPH guidelines here and Monterey County metrics here.

If Your Child Tests Positive

Chartwell will follow the California Department of Health Isolation and Quarantine Guidelines for students, faculty, and staff who test positive for COVID.

New Tuition Management Service

Beginning this year Chartwell is partnering with FACTS, one of the nationwide leaders in tuition management service for independent schools.

FACTS makes paying for tuition simple and secure and supports multiple payment options for families.

Within the next few days you will receive an email from FACTS with detailed instructions on how to enroll and set up your account. Please note that enrollment in the FACTS tuition service is required for all families and needs to be completed by August 30, 2022.

There is a $50 FACTS annual enrollment fee but due to late service implementation, it is being waived this year.

Please review the attached informational flyer from FACTS and do not hesitate to contact Alex Kopelevicj at akopelevich@chartwell.org or Katia Stornetta at kstornetta@chartwell.org in the Business Office if you have any questions or concerns.

Update: 2021-2022 Yearbooks Available Soon

Yearbooks are en route to Chartwell and we will update our community with distribution details when they arrive.

Copies will be mailed to students who are no longer at Chartwell. Contact Nena Prakash at nprakash@chartwell.org with questions.

Uniform Guidelines Reminder

Please review the following clarification regarding the school uniform for Lower and Middle School Students:

  • Students should wear the school-provided Chartwell color cohort t-shirt every day.

  • If you need more t-shirts or sweatshirts, please order through the online webstore here.

T-shirts can be altered for creative fashion expression. If your child is having an individual issue with wearing the t-shirt, please contact your division director (Katherine Kanaski, Lower School or Karla Bell, Middle School) to discuss a potential solution.

Also, regarding outside apparel, the external clothing layer must be in the color of the cohort. If students do not have a sweatshirt or jacket in the class color, they can wear their Chartwell t-shirt over their sweatshirt.
