Message from the Principal
Happy Holidays!
Thank you for such a fantastic semester. We have so much to be proud of here at Elkins Pointe! The Governor’s Office of Student Achievement (GOSA) has issued the list of schools "Beating the Odds" for 2019. I am proud to announce that Elkins Pointe Middle School has been named, for the second year in a row, a “Beating the Odds” school. This accomplishment is just another example of the hard work from our teachers, staff, students, parents, PTSA, SGC, and community partners!
Over the Winter break, I hope you spend some quality time with family and friends. Take some time to engage in learning by encouraging your family members to read a book to hone Literacy skills, and play board games with your child to sharpen Math skills. Plan a family field trip and explore some fun as a family. My family and I are headed to Orlando, Florida, to watch my oldest son, DJ, and his Liberty University football teammates play in the Cure Bowl against Georgia Southern. If you happen to be in Orlando, Florida on Saturday, December 21, come cheer on #59.
Have a happy holiday and an amazing new year!

Red Carpet Screening
A Message of Thanks from Mr. Keith Hampton:
Thank you all for an awesome turnout at the HFA Fall 2019 Mid-Year Red Carpet Screening at Elkins Pointe! We are halfway through the year, and I am more excited than ever before about the spring semester and our big End-of-the-Year Awards Ceremony and Red Carpet Extravaganza at the Aurora Cineplex, in May.

Special thanks to Principal Bounds, Mrs. Liby Roude, Dr. Erika Edwards, Assistant Principal Lahey, our filmmakers, and all of their wonderful parents. Thank you to Elkins Pointe Middle School and Fulton County Schools for bringing Hampton Film Academy to Elkins Pointe and making it a reality. The screening and the semester would not have been the same without you!

You Ought to Be in Film School!
We are so proud of Evan Reese, 12th grader at Roswell High School, on his acceptance to GSU's Film Program. Evan, pictured below with Mr. Keith Hampton, was part of the very first film club at Elkins Pointe. It was through the Hampton Film Academy at Elkins Pointe that Evan found his passion for being a filmmaker.

Cotillion - Registration Now Open!
The Bridges/North Atlanta Cotillion is coming January 2020! Registration opened on November 1st. We are excited to start our classes on Sunday, January 5, at The Country Club of Roswell. We promise this is not your grandmother's Cotillion. Come to have fun with us while learning dance and etiquette!
Seventh Graders will learn basic ballroom dancing and popular dance (Shag, Swing, Free-Style, Line, and Slow), as well as many relevant social and professional skills the students will need to know now and throughout their lives. The Seventh Grade class will culminate in a Parents Showcase displaying the Program as parents observe all their child has learned. Students will also enjoy a 50's Party filled with games, contests, dancing, and pizza!
For Eighth Graders, the classes will review the basics taught in year one, and the students will learn many new dances, including Latin, Swing, and Hustle. An extensive Table Manners segment will further develop your child’s social graces. Dating, interviewing, and making conversation will also be covered. The Eighth Grade Program will culminate in a Dinner Dance that brings all of the students’ new skills into practice. New students are always welcome in 8th grade.
You can expect your child to gain confidence in our classes, and learn how to greet, shake hands and converse with adults - an all-important skill as the dating years approach. They will also discuss social media etiquette! But most of all, your teen will have fun!
