News and Notes
Dear Transfiguration Families,
I hope you are having a fabulous Labor Day and are enjoying your last weekend of Summer vacation. I am so excited to see your children this week and begin the 20-21 school year. The teachers and I have been preparing the school and classrooms. We are ready to welcome all of your children on Wednesday! This year will certainly be a different year but I know that working together as a community, we will make it a great year!
For those of you choosing remote learning, please see the details below.
Have a great week,
Protocols for Those Who Have Chosen Remote Learning
The Pick Up Day for Chromebooks and materials will be from 10:00-2:00 on Friday 9/11.
Students working remotely will be provided with a Chromebook, textbooks and access to all digital platforms. Teachers will contact you with the Zoom information your child will need to join the class.
Each class will have specific needs for other learning materials. These will be provided to the students as needed.
Parents of students working remotely should identify a space at home to be designated as the student personal space.
All students working remotely will be required to participate in class activities at the time they are presented.
Based on grade level and age appropriateness, the teachers will provide time specific requirements for each class.
Students should be ready each day to fully participate in learning.
That means the students must be in a Transfiguration shirt (or white polo), all materials at hand in the space, and all assignments ready.
Parents should be able to scan and send assignments.
Instruction and support in using Google classroom and all digital products will be provided to both students and parents as needed.
Students will start the day by joining morning announcement zoom at 7:50.
Please review the videos regarding procedures that I sent out in previous newsletters during the Summer. For your convenience I have attached them below. I have also included the recordings of the two virtual meetings I held last week. For the PK video, please start at the 15th minute. For the K-8 video, please start at the 10:30 mark.
