Wasco Weekly
THE STRENGTH OF THE WOLF IS ITS PACK
January 7, 2022
Wasco staff began our 2022 focusing on gratitude. As we think of our parent community, we are grateful for the expressions of gratitude you showed staff during the holiday season and helping us get back into school routines this week. It isn’t easy to keep us all healthy and safe, but your efforts to prepare your child for school really help! Thank you for connecting with your child’s teacher and the office so that we can listen and respond to your family’s needs.
Kind Regards,
Principal Brennan

Some Friendly Reminders about Arrival and Dismissal

Arrival
Our front door closes at 8:00 so we can all start our day together with morning routines. If you are dropping off your student, please arrive between 7:45 and 7:55. When students are late they feel out of place and they are missing valuable connections with their whole school community.
Arrival and Dismissal
When using the drop off lane, please drive all the way forward so that we can load/unload as many cars as possible. Please stay in your car. If you wish to get out and load your child, you are welcome to park in the lot. By following this procedure, we can expedite everyone’s waiting times in the car lane.

Let's Get To Know...

Mr. Jim Vejseli
4th Grade Teacher
Mr. Vejseli: It was during the first week of school. Students had brought in a bunch of supplies that they would be contributing to our classroom. When asked where they should place the supplies, I asked them to simply “toss them in the back”. I made the mistake of thinking this would be done in an orderly fashion but instead ended up with a massive pile of notebooks, glue-sticks, pencils and other supplies. It probably took me over an hour to sort everything out.
If you could pass on any wisdom to your students, what would you share?
Mr. Vejseli: I would encourage my students to take chances and pursue the things that they are passionate about. The happiest people I know are the ones who decided to chase what they loved. Focus on your goals, make plenty of friends and laugh often.
How do you spend your summer breaks?
Mr. Vejseli: I like to use this time to recharge and focus on my physical and mental health. Summer break gives me time to make some healthy food and get plenty of exercise. I enjoy hiking, so I try and travel to Colorado any time I get the chance. A good summer is one that is spent outdoors and in the sunshine.
