Curriculum and Instruction
Have you logged onto DIBELS lately and checked on your student's progress monitoring. I suggest every team log on together and review your T2 and T3 students. Are they making progress? Are they above their aim line three times and ready to move out of an intervention? Please start having these conversations.

Ways to Respond to Independent Reading, Read with A Buddy, or Read Aloud Time~
1. Evaluation: Quickly list as many words as you can to describe your book. Put a plus sign next to the words on your list that you could support with details from the book. Pick your three best words and put them in one sentence.
2. What’s Next: Of the books the other people in your group are reading, which one would you choose to read next? Why? If you could read another book related to the one you’re reading now, what would it be? Write a journal entry about books you’d like to read after you finish the one you’re reading.
Literacy Activities That Engage the Brain~
High Frequency Words: Have students manipulate magnetic letters to spell out designated words. The magnetic letters can adhere to a cookie sheet or a metal file cabinet.
Reaching ALL Learners
Leave on a high note: This ritual ensures that students leave class on a high note every day, with a sense of completion and anticipation for tomorrow.
THE YES CLAP: At the end of the school day, have students stand facing you or their classmates, with their hands stretched out from each side, palms up. Say, “Use your imagination to put all of your previous knowledge, whatever you brought with your today, in your left hand. Put all of the new material you have learned today in your right hand. When I say so, bring them together in a huge, roaring clap, and shout the most powerful word in the English language: ‘YES!’”

From Katie Reynolds (Tech Team Rep):
I wanted to share out these ideas on Digital Etiquette. This is more relevant for the older kids, however the younger kids might benefit from being exposed to the idea of digital etiquette/digital common sense. Below is the page from Nadine's website with tons of helpful ideas, as well as a free Brainpop on the subject.
