FBMS--Great First Week!

Our First Few Days!
Why does Cohort B have three days of in person learning next week?
It takes two days to get through every class (4 classes one day; 4 the next). In order to see all students right away at the beginning of the year, for the first four days of learning, we did a modified hybrid. On 9/17, Cohort A attended their first four classes (classes 1-4), and on 9/18, Cohort B attended their first four classes. The following Monday, Cohort A will attend their last four classes, or classes 5-8, and on Tuesday, 9/22, Cohort B will attend classes 5-8. At that point, both Cohorts will have had equal time and have both gone through their complete schedule. On 9/23, the actual full hybrid schedule begins, B/B. The idea that Cohort B has more in person time is perceived and not actual.
Every Student's Schedule
When students are not present in school, they are working remotely. Assignments are posted to CANVAS each day. See the schedule below. Although students are here two days in person, they are still working three other days online. These first four days teachers will be helping students to navigate their online learning.

Our fully remote learners!
Students who are participating in our fully remote program are off to a great start! This week learners engaged in live virtual meetings and got to know their new teachers and peers. Much like the hybrid program, remote students participated in getting-to-know-you activities, by decorating virtual lockers and hydroflasks, and sharing their creations. They familiarized themselves with their new online learning environment in Canvas and began building our remote school community. Remote teachers are delighted to work with such a pioneering and spirited group!
Masks are REQUIRED
We are serious about students wearing masks. Wearing them is not something to joke about, and students who are either refusing to wear a mask or pulling theirs off will be sent home. Additionally, such behavior will be met with progressive discipline. We wear masks to keep all those around us safe.
