SPRING BREAK - No school March 13th - 17th Classes Resume on Monday, March 20th
Dear Richardson Families
Even though it definitely still feels like winter with all the snow, we hope everyone's Spring Break is off to a great start and that throughout the week you have time to relax and enjoy some family time together.
Pictured above is Ailey Her, 2nd grade student from Mrs. Jensen's class. She won the I Love to Read Month BINGO contest - so she got to pick out a free book from our Book Fair. If your family did not complete this activity in February, you could always do it over spring break. Here again is a link to that activity.
If you are interested in another family activity, here is a blank BINGO board you can use to create a BINGO board of things to do over the break (These could be learning activities, fun activities to do together as a family, ways to help out at home or in the community, etc. Since Tuesday is 3.14 (National PI Day) it might be fun to add in choices around learning about PI and/or the history of PI Day). Students can bring in their completed board on Monday, March 20th to be entered into a raffle for a free book!
While cooking a meal together would be a great Spring Break idea for your BINGO board (Article on the educational benefits of cooking with children); if your family would like to enjoy a evening without having to cook over spring break, see below for a flyer for Richardson's PTA fundraiser at Culvers on Monday, March 13th from 4:00 - 7:00.
As always, if you have questions around any of the information in this newsletter, feel free to reach out to me at mhoude@isd622.org or 651-748-6910 (and/or you can always reach out to our main office at 651-748-6900).
Sincerely,
Melissa Houde - Principal
