2023 Spring Athletic Season in Review
The spring season and school year has come to an end. The spring season brought optimism and a new program back, boys tennis. Coach Benham took the reins for the jv boys team in their first season in over a decade. Great season and plenty to build one. Boys volleyball finished the season at 8-9 missing the tournament as head coach Jay Guinan announced he’ll be stepping aside as varsity coach. Track & field had over 100 athletes in the program which was the most ever by our records. Jack Borst and Ben McCarthy qualified for the state tournament and represented well. Softball qualified for the tournament under first year coach Brett MacGowan, earning the #12 seed, winning their round of 32 game before falling in the sweet 16 to West Boylston. Baseball improved as the season progressed with a four game winning streak in the final weeks which earned them a #12 seed in the D5 tournament, winning the round of 32 before falling in the sweet 16 to Pioneer Valley. Girls tennis built on their outstanding 2022 campaign going 9-9 this season and qualifying for the D4 tournament as the #17 seed. They fell in the round of 32 to Quaboag. We had several athletes participate in lacrosse with Bellingham and improved tremendously through the season.
