MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear CMS Families,
Unfortunately, we've encountered several indoor recess periods this week due to inclement weather. This week reminded us of the importance of OUTDOOR play. Despite the challenges, our students continue to find ways to have fun during indoor recess. I had the pleasure of joining the 6th-grade students in a game of "FLINCH."
AM/PM DROP OFF
As we kick off the new semester, we would like to take a moment to remind all parents and guardians about the drop off procedures at Chardon Middle School.
Students Ready to Exit: Please ensure that your child is ready to exit the vehicle as soon as it comes to a stop. Once your vehicle has stopped at the drop off area or sidewalk, students should promptly exit the vehicle. This ensures a quick and safe drop off experience for everyone.
Close Gaps Between Cars: To facilitate a more organized drop off, please close any large gaps between vehicles. This helps maximize the use of available space and keeps the traffic flowing smoothly.
Avoid Front Door Drop Offs: We have noticed an increase in the number of cars dropping off students directly at the front door. To alleviate congestion, we encourage parents to use the entire designated drop off zones to ensure a safer and more efficient process.
After School Concern: South Entrance Congestion
There has been an increasing number of cars pulling in through the south entrance during afternoon pick-up. Unfortunately, this has led to buses being delayed in entering, impacting their timely departure. To alleviate this congestion, we kindly request that if the entrance is full, parents utilize the middle entrance instead of the south entrance. This small adjustment will help prevent traffic from being blocked on North Street.
JUNIIOR ACHIEVEMENT-VOLUNTEERS
Chardon Middle School is partnering with Junior Achievement, a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring and preparing students for success in a global economy. This program provides valuable insights into financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work readiness.
We are seeking enthusiastic parents to volunteer for a one-day commitment to deliver the Junior Achievement program in our classrooms. No prior teaching experience is necessary, as Junior Achievement provides all the necessary training and materials.
If you are interested in volunteering for this rewarding experience, please click HERE to sign up.
ART SHOW
We are excited to announce that, in conjunction with upcoming teacher conferences, we will be hosting an Art Show in the cafeteria showcasing the incredible talents of our students. Please note that the conferences on February 06 are by teacher invitation only. If you have not received an invitation but would like to discuss your child's progress, please reach out to your child's teacher to schedule.
Enjoy your weekend.
Mr. Tomco
