What A Night of STARS for the 2018 DDD!
Hope all the attendees enjoyed their Walk On The Red Carpet evening! The DDD is a memorable event at Silver Springs, which requires many hours of time and work. We truly appreciate the support for this special PTA fundraiser for our Silver Springs girls. So a huge thanks to Lindsay Laiacono for her help in organizing this big event. Thank you to Teresa Makie for making our stars and Kristin Gifford for helping set up. Thanks also to my sister in CA for making all the Red Carpet frame cut outs. Thanks also to Laura Nigoghosian, Kate Counts, and Mrs. Booth for all your help at the dance. Thanks to Mrs. Tomasak and Mrs. Murphy and Mr. Jalen and Mr. Clement for your help. Thank you to ALL the families who donated food, paper products, and water. It is very much appreciated! It takes volunteers to make these events happen!
What A Great Science Fair!
Congratulations to all the participants in the 2018 Science Fair! It was great to see so many participants who had inquisitive minds this year. It was very impressive and informative to see all the display boards. The PTA is proud to sponsor such a rewarding and educational event.
Thank you to Silke Nyilas and her Science Fair Committee: Franziska Hildebrandt, Jill Cutaiar, Kristina Maro, and Sumana Krishnan. Also, thanks to all the parents who volunteered their time and/or donated items for this event.

We Need You…PTA Executive Board Open Positions
It’s that time of year to get our Executive Board nominated and elected for the 2018-2109 school year. Have you considered getting more involved in the PTA and want to help make a difference at Silver Springs? A position on the Silver Springs Executive Board may be the place for you. This is a great opportunity to learn about the PTA and have an active role in all the things the PTA does for Silver Springs. The positions of President and Secretary will be open for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year. If you have a first grader or second grader, this is an especially good time to become involved with the executive board. Contact Leslie Cardenas with any questions or inquiries you may have at silversprings.pta.president@gmail.com
After-School Activities Student Pick-Up
We keep the main doors locked for safety. Kids Club families have key fobs so that they are able to come in and sign their student out of the program. Please don't follow someone into the building. Thank you for your understanding in putting student safety first and we appreciate your effort to follow these rules.
Supporting the The 7 Habits at home!
Habit #7: Sharpen the Saw
What this means: Balance feels best. In order to maintain and increase effectiveness, we must renew ourselves in body, mind, heart and soul.
“I take care of my body by eating right, exercising, and getting sleep.”
“I find meaningful ways to help others.”
“I spend time with family and friends.”
“I learn in lots of ways and places, not just at school.”
How can I do this in my life?
1. Go for a walk.
2. Read a book.
3. Volunteer in your community.
4. Value the difference in others.
