New Lebanon School

Hello Bobcat Families!
I hope everyone is safe and sound after that wild storm we had last week. I was able to watch the wind and rain from the office at New Lebanon - what a view! Our school was safe during the storm - we had no severe damage and did not lose power.
First and foremost, I want to congratulate our former Assistant Principal, Mrs. Klara Monaco on her new role as Principal at Glenville School. New Lebanon was a better place with Mrs. Monaco, and I feel lucky to have collaborated and grown alongside her as a leader. We will miss her dearly, and are simultaneously thrilled for this new opportunity. I especially feel lucky to have another strong principal in Greenwich to continue to work alongside - Mrs. Monaco and I still get to talk to one another (almost) every day!
Briefly, Dr. Jones has sent several important emails about returning to school, and more information about New Lebanon specific protocols will be coming later this week. In the meantime, you can see all of the district re-opening information here: https://www.greenwichschools.org/district-information/return-to-school-planning-team-2020.
We know the below information regarding school supplies is coming to you later than usual, but we also have a later start date for school this year - the first day of school is Wednesday, September 9, 2020. This means you still have about four weeks to gather supplies for your student(s)! While we have used “School Supply Packs” or something similar in the past, we now have the flexibility to bargain shop! You may purchase the requested items below at any retail store, online, or by shopping in your own closets at home :).
Below are recommended supply lists from your grade level teachers. If you are not able to purchase school supplies at this time, the school will provide them for your student(s). If you are in need of backpacks, clothes, or other items to start the school year, please reach out to our school social worker Sandra Saavedra at Sandra_Corrente@greenwich.k12.ct.us.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns - you can always reach me by email or phone.

Quick update from Ms. B: I got married this past summer! We were able to have a small wedding on our front lawn with just family. Although not the wedding we had planned, it was very special, and we will have the big wedding next summer. I tell you all this because I will have a new name next year...Mrs. Michaelson!
Love,
"The New" Mrs. Michaelson (aka Ms. B)
