Education/Training Requirements
The FBI requires a candidate for a job to hold a four-year degree from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States of America. They also require candidates to:
-Be 23 years old, but younger than 37 years old.
-Be a United States citizen or a citizen of the Northern Mariana Islands.
-Possess a valid U.S. Drivers License, and
-Complete at least 3 years of professional work experience.
Agents must also qualify for at least one of five FBI Special Agent Entry Programs to be eligible for employment:
-Language
-Law
-Accounting
-Computer Science/Information Technology
-Diversified
Salary Information
The FBI's average salary is around $64,332 per year. According to the FBI locality pay ranging from 12.5% to 28.7% of base, as well as availability pay, which equates to a 25% increase in adjusted salary due to the requirement that agents average 50-hour work weeks.
