Girls Swim Wins GAC South Championship
The girls swim program won the GAC South Conference Championship on Thursday night. It was the second conference championship in program history. The Lady Vikings were led by 10 first place finishes out of 12 scored events. Our girls swim program will compete at the State Meet at Rec Plex this weekend for their shot at several state championship performances. Wrestling Qualifies Eight For State Tournament
The #2 state ranked Howell wrestling program came into the district tournament hoping to walk away with several wrestlers that would qualify for state this coming weekend at Mizzou and they did just that. Overall eight Howell wrestlers qualified for state and will represent the Vikings. The Vikings were led by district championship performances by Antonio Jenkins-Harris, Dylan Komperda and Jack Flynn. You can view the results for our state qualifiers at the district tournament below. Good luck to our eight wrestlers representing Howell at the state level this weekend at Mizzou!
106 lbs - Josh Kyle (29-9) placed 2nd and scored 19.00 team points.
120 lbs - Tyler Kreith (31-3) placed 2nd and scored 19.50 team points.
132 lbs - Moses Powell (12-11) placed 4th and scored 9.00 team points.
145 lbs - Tyler McGhee (25-10) placed 3rd and scored 15.00 team points.
160 lbs - Ty Purler (28-3) placed 2nd and scored 21.00 team points.

Six Swimmers Qualify For State In Eight Events
Congratulations to our girls swim program for qualifying for state in eight events. The Lady Vikings have had a historic season and are looking to make a splash at the State meet this weekend. Congratulations to Maddi Leigh for being named the St. Charles County Amateur Sports Hall of Fame "Oustanding Female Senior Athlete of the Year!" Maddi has had an outstanding high school career at Howell both on and off the course and track. She will be attending Oakland University in the fall to further her education and cross country/track career. You can view her many accomplishments at Howell below. Congratulations again to Maddi on a great honor and great high school career at Francis Howell.

Howell DECA Qualifies 51 Students For State
Students of the Francis Howell High School Chapter of Missouri DECA: An Association of Marketing Students joined over 720 high school marketing students at the annual District Career Development Conference held February 8, 2017 at the Chesterfield Mall. Francis Howell had 51 qualify to go to the State Career DECA Competition at the Lodge of the Four Seasons. These students have an opportunity to advance to the International DECA Conference. This year’s International Career Development Conference will be held April 25-30 in Anaheim California.
DECA competitive events are designed to contribute to the development of competencies needed for careers in marketing, management and merchandising, to motivate students to assume responsibility for self-improvement and self-discipline, to assist students in acquiring a realistic self-concept through individual and group activities and to provide visibility for the educational goals and objectives of marketing education.
DECA is the only international organization specifically designed to reinforce the occupational competencies of high school students who wish to pursue a career in marketing, merchandising or management. Over 180,000 students from the United States, Canada, Guam, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands are involved in this organization.
Spring Meet The Coaches Set For February 15th
The spring season "Meet the Coaches" has been set for February 15th. Eligibility paperwork turn in will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the high school commons with the meeting portion beginning at 6:00 p.m. All eligibility paperwork must be complete to be turned in. All students wanting to participate in a spring MSHSAA sponsored activity must have this completed prior to the first day on February 27th. It is recommended that all paperwork be turned in at the "Meet the Coaches" event on February 15th. To ensure participation on February 27th all fully complete paperwork must be turned in no later than February 23rd at noon . A link to all eligibility paperwork can be found below.
