We're in the Final Stretch!
Hello! The end of the year is drawing closer! While we can see the light at the end of the tunnel, this final stretch is jam packed with some important things, and we need to muster up all our positive energy to finish strong! Some quick points to ensure a great finish:
- Fridays are FULL days this nine weeks. Students miss a lot by logging out for the afternoon. Remember that this is still real school.
- It's important that kids log on everyday! It's not enough to just submit the work! Teachers need to see and interact with your child.
- Registration and transfer requests are coming up! It will be important that you take care of that.
- Please see below for STAAR requirements and options if your child is learning remotely.
STAAR Test 2021
Attention 3rd-6th Grade:
The STAAR testing requirement has not been waived. The Texas Education Agency has ruled that the STAAR test will be a requirement for the 2021 testing year. If your child is learning remotely, you will be receiving a call from one of our leadership members to discuss your options. Students who are attending face to face are already scheduled to test. Please keep in mind the importance of this data in guiding next year's teachers with identifying learning loss and filling in gaps.
No School Friday, April 2nd in observance of Good Friday
2021-2022 Pre-Kindergarten Registration Opens April 1!
April 4-10 is National Library Week! Our librarian, Ms. Castaneda, has been creative and thoughtful in her approach to ensuring all kids still have access to great reading material. Thank you, Ms. Castaneda!
Nurse's Screenings
Annual vision, hearing and spinal screenings will proceed differently this year. Please see the attachment below and contact Nurse Destiny if you have a concern and would like to set up an appointment to be screened.
April is Month of the Military Child
During the month of April, we remember that not only do our men and women in the military sacrifice so that we may enjoy freedom--so do their children. Let's honor these young heroes who also serve by wearing purple on April 15th.
