The band.
Buddy Holly's group The Crickets, inspired the band to change there name to The Beatles.
The group released their first single, "Love Me Do" in 1962. It was number 17 on the British charts. 2 Mega hits were "She loves you" and "I want to hold your hand"
In 1964 The Beatles were the first band to break out big in the US.
Their appearance was on "The Ed Sullivan Show" on February 9,1964.
They became hits.
The Beatles started ti lose it appeal in 1966.
Their lives were in danger when they were accused of snubbing the Presidents Family in the Philippines.
John left the band is September of 1969, and a public announcement was made by Paul in April of 1970.
John Lennon
When John was 4 he went to go and live with his Aunt Mimi after his parents separated.
When he was 16, Elvis Presley inspired him to create a band called the "Quarry Men'
He met Paul McCartney at a church and invited him to join his music group.
When Paul finally joined they eventually formed the most successful songwriting partnership in musical history.
Later on John got shot by a deranged fan in front of his apartment, he was 40 when he died.
Paul McCartney
He began his love affair with music at a early age.
His dad helped him but Paul learned how to play the Spanish guitar, Trumpet, and the Piano.
Paul and John had a close bond.
He is one of the most popular solo performer of all time.
George Harrison
George met Paul at grammar school.
He was granted a audition on the upper deck of a bus.
He made solo records and started a film production company.
George later died of Cancer in 2001
Richard Starkey (Ringo Starr)
Starr was a sickly child, so he missed a lot of days of school. He dropped out of school as a teenager.
Ringo was in another band before the Beatles, He took his nickname "Ringo", it was given to him because of the rings he wore.
When he joined the Beatles he replaced their current drummer Pete Best.
