Message from Mrs. Stauffer
Here we are in the month of December! Holiday decorations are sprouting up everywhere as we begin preparing for the holiday season. There is no doubt that this is a wonderfully busy time of year. The hustle and bustle of the holiday season can sometimes be stressful for both adults and children. Continue to support your child in his/her school success by ensuring a bed time is maintained during this busy time time of year. Studies show that adequate sleep supports learning, brain development, and concentration; all of which contribute to school success! Please help us as we encourage our students to stay focused during instruction.
We will be celebrating school and classroom December Festivities on December 21, 2022. Your child’s teacher will be providing you with classroom December Festivities information. If you are donating a treat for classroom festivities, all treat donations must be store-bought items.
The drop in temperatures last week reminds us that students need to come to school properly dressed for the weather. Please take the weather into consideration when you dress your child for the day. As the weather gets cooler, jackets and coats will be necessary for your child to bring to school. Please continue practicing zipping up jackets at home with younger students. Please remember to LABEL EVERYTHING!
Kind Regards,
Mrs. Stauffer

Report Card Update
One important tool for keeping the lines of communication open between home and school is providing families with updates on their child's progress with report cards.
Report cards will be provided to families the week of 12/12. A school messenger will be sent when report cards are available. For the first trimester, kindergarten families will receive paper copies of report cards so be sure to check your kindergarten student's bookbag for his/her report card.
Families in Grades 1-5 will receive their student's first trimester report card through the Home Access Center. Paper report cards will only be provided for Grades 1-5 by parent request. Requests for paper report cards can be sent to alessandroc@casdschools.org. Please include your student's name, grade, and teacher in your request.
Be sure to check next week's Monday Morning Message for a parent guide on using Home Access to view your student's report card.

Important Reminders
Student Name/Teacher/Date and Time of Dismissal/Reason/Name of Adult picking up and relationship/Parent Signature and parent daytime phone#
All early dismissals should be completed at the main office by 3:00. Students must be signed out. Dismissals after 3:15 will be in the parent pickup line.
The adult picking up must bring a government issued Photo ID (preferably a driver’s license).
Refillable water bottles:Rainbow has transitioned to bottle filling stations. Water fountains have been turned off. Students should bring a refillable water bottle to school..
Transportation: A nationwide bus driver shortage is impacting many districts, including Coatesville, and may lead to increased delays. Buses normally run late the first two weeks of school as students and drivers become accustomed to their routes. We appreciate your patience. If your student is riding the bus, please have them at the bus stop 10 minutes prior to the arrival of the bus.
Parent-Pick-Up Notes: Thank you for having patience with us as we work to make our afternoon dismissal more efficient. Please help up with this by sending a parent pick up note into school with your student. You may send in a handwritten note or download and print the form below.
