The ISTE organization offers technology education resources, including standards for teachers and students. ISTE hosts an annual conference in June, where educators from around the world come to here session on innovative technologies used in the classroom.
ISTE members have access to additional web resources, professional journals as well as a discount on books and ebooks. Members can also join professional learning networks on a variety of topics, connecting to other members. Membership runs around $115 a year. Those who are not members can still access some resources for free: http://www.iste.org/resources/free-resources
The organization hosts two events annually. In the fall of the school year, the organization hosts a training or small conference geared toward administrators. This year, the fall training is focused on Legal Matters for schools and school districts in the area of technology. In March, KySTE hosts a conference in Louisville. Teachers, technology resource teachers,vendors and community partners share ideas and resources they are using in regards to technology integration.
KySTE members can apply for grants and special recognition for the work they are doing in the area of technology and education in Kentucky. Membership in KySTE is $25 annually.
