Ridgeway Book Swap
We are going to have a book swap for students! Here’s how it works:
- Students bring gently used books to school to donate for the swap. This is a great time to go through your bookshelf at home and donate books you no longer want.
- Their teacher will keep track of their donation.
- It is a 1-for-1 swap, so students who bring in 3 books will get to choose 3 books (max 5). *Note: all students will get at least one book from the book swap.
- On the day of the swap, all students will get to visit the collection of books and choose at least one book.
Bring books next week Monday-Thursday (Dec. 12-15). The book swap will be held on December 19.
Winter Weather Gear Collection
This year, we are collecting winter weather gear to share with those in need in our community. Between December 12 and 16, Ridgeway students may bring in new hats, gloves, and scarves along with new or gently used coats to donate. Items will be collected in classrooms throughout the week. We will deliver donated items to the City of Refuge at the end of the week.

Specialist News
Fall Semester 2022 is wrapping up! As part of our Teaching of Reading course, Columbia College students got the opportunity to teach our Unit C students. Unit C students practiced the skill of retell and summarizing by creating a stop-motion video based on a picture book. The video included the setting, characters, and important details in the story. Unit C had a ton of fun while practicing this important reading skill!
Looking forward to seeing those of you who can join us at the Columbia College Partner in Education Basketball game on Saturday, December 10 vs. Webster University at 1:00 PM. Go Cougars!
