Principal's Message
Parents:
Parents,
I cannot emphasize enough the need for all of you to read all of Dr. Scanlon's communications carefully as the district, state, and world confront this health crisis. We have asked all students to take home their laptops and any important textbooks and literature books. We had a locker cleanout today and the custodial staff is putting in overtime to keep the building clean and sanitary. Have a restful weekend and do something old-school with your family like a board game, pictionary, or a game of cards. They will not only serve as a distraction from the news but also bring your family closer together. Just a thought.
Dr. Cognato

8th Grade Celebration Spring Dance
It is hard to believe that we are halfway through the 2019-2020 school year. With this in mind, we need to start planning the eighth grade dance. Traditionally, Stetson’s eighth graders have enjoyed their annual dance, which is an opportunity to celebrate their years spent at Stetson before going on to high school.
An enjoyable evening is being planned for Friday, April 24th, 2020 from 7:00 to 10:00 PM. The committee does a wonderful job transforming the cafeteria into an atmosphere appropriate for the culminating social event of your child’s middle school experience. Snacks will also be served.
The attire for this social will be “dressy”. Tasteful dress-up or party dresses for girls and dress shirt, tie and slacks for boys are appropriate. Jackets for boys are optional. Tuxedos, low-cut, mini-skirt or open-backed dresses are not to be worn. Limos are not permitted – this is not a prom. Also, only members of the Stetson class are permitted to attend.
Permission forms and ticket information will be coming home in early April. Please contact us with any questions or concerns.
Thank you,

Sports Physicals
6th Grade
Please read the following precautionary word about sports physicals.
If you are the parent of a 6th grader who has a possibility of playing a sport next year as a 7th grader the state requirement is that all student athletes must have a PIAA physical dated on or after 1 June of the year preceding school year .This physical form is different from the physical form required in elementary school and for 6th grade enrollment. If you are or have scheduled your child for a sports physical which will occur before 1 June of next year , you should consider rescheduling that physical for either on or after 1 June.
If you have any questions please contact Coach Corcoran; wcorcoran@wcasd.net.
7th and 8th grade Parents
In order for your child to participate in any athletic team he/she must have a physical dated after 1 June preceding the school year. This physical must be uploaded to Family ID. For each subsequent sport you as the parent /guardian must sign the page 7 of the PIAA physical form. These are state mandated requirements and may not be waivered for any reason. A copy of the instructions for uploading physicals of the page 7 to Family ID is attached. A copy of the PIAA physical form can be downloaded from the Stetson website in the Athletics section.
If you have any questions please contact Coach Corcoran; wcorcoran@wcasd.net
