News You Can Use
We have REACHED NOVEMBER! Thank you for all of your amazing work the 1st 9weeks. Here are a few quick things to keep in mind for the next few weeks.
Kinder- we are in our last week of Tradition Literature and moving into Fiction Genre in Reading and Personal Narrative in Writing.
1st- We are still going strong in our Fiction unit in Rdg/Writing
2nd- We are beginning Traditional Lit. in Rdg and continuing Writing Fictional Stories.
3rd- Still going strong in Poetry
4th- Finishing up Fiction and Personal Narrative moving towards Non-fiction and Expository Writing.
5th- We are approaching Poetry in two weeks!!!
Teams please let me know if you need anything to support these genres.
K-2 Please...please...please when possible try to get our kiddos on Lexia. At our meeting this week our data showed that only 17% of our campus is using the program. That is 4 teachers out of the 17 assigned. This program is great for gathering data for eRTI and parent conferences.
I would also like to say that everyone is doing an amazing job using mentor text, using Immersion Charts, and keeping up with their reading levels. I wish I had more time to see all of the great centers everyone has in place, but I've only been able to see a few. I can't wait to see everyone's hard work and how the students are using them.
Keep up the great work everyone!
Book of the Month
Ok, you might have to fight me for this one, it is just that good.
"In The Reading Strategies Book, there are strategies to support everything from fluency to literary analysis." The book is very user friendly and has great sample anchor charts. This book was ordered for our campus and is on it way!!! (Thanks Karen)
If you have a book you would like to feature for the month, please feel free to send me the information and I will share with everyone. Who knows there may be a treat for the teacher who shares!!!
