Bellflower Middle/High School Newsletter
Important Campus Visit This Week
This week is a very important week for Bellflower Middle/High School. From Monday, March 6th through Wednesday, March 8th, a visiting committee from the Western Association of Schools & Colleges (WASC) will be on our campus. This group focuses on accreditation, which is a process schools use to monitor student learning and set school improvement goals. ACS WASC accreditation is an ongoing cycle of quality. Schools assess their program and the impact on student learning with respect to the ACS WASC criteria and other accreditation factors.
Listed below are just a few reminders:
- Bellflower Middle/High School does not permit any drop-offs or deliveries of food or other items. Please ensure that your student is prepared for the day when coming to school in the morning with their lunch, supplies, money, etc.
- Dress Code. Please be sure that your student follows the dress code and wears appropriate clothing and accessories. Bellflower hats are also the only school approved hat that can be worn at school. Also, students may not bring blankets to campus.
- No returning back to campus. If a student has an early release (7th or 8th period), once the student leaves campus, they may not return to campus. Parents - please ensure that your students are going home early if they have the early release.
For a full list of student policies on attendance and dress code, please click here.
Grade Level Competition - March Madness!
For the month of March, we are having a March Madness competition between all grade levels. The grade level with the least amount of tardies for the month of March will earn FREE In and Out along with their teacher. We need to announce this competition as often as possible and remind students of the importance of punctuality and timeliness, as a life skill that will continue long after high school.
Parents and Students: We appreciate your support in promoting this. Please see the attached flyer as well.

BHS Thespian Presents Sister Act, the Musical.
- Rejoice! The Bellflower High School's Thespian Troupe presents the glorious Broadway musical comedy Sister Act, on stage from March 15 to March 18. This hilarious and joyful musical, based on the hit Whoopi Goldberg film, follows Deloris Van Cartier, a wannabe diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a crime and the cops hide her in the last place anyone would think to look - a convent! Under the suspicious watch of Mother Superior, Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own. This sparkling musical comedy was nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and features original music by Tony Award and 8-time Oscar Award winner Alan Menken, with lyrics by Broadway’s Glen Slater. The New York Post called Sister Act “ridiculously fun,” and audiences around the world have jumped to their feet in total agreement.
- Pre-sale tickets are available at the ASB office for $10 and $8 with ASB Card, and $15 at the door.
