Carline Safety
Please review Dryden's carline safety procedures during arrival and dismissal:
- Remain in your car if in the car line.
- Please pull up your vehicle as far as you possibly can in the car line. This helps prevent back-up into student crosswalk at Dryden & Rockwell.
- Pick-up & drop-off in front of the school southbound along Dryden only. Once the school buses leave the bus lane in the morning, cars will be invited to pull up into the bus lane for drop-off. Any student is allowed to enter the school building through the main entrance. At dismissal, students are encouraged to wait on the sidewalk in front of the school building along Dryden or by the flagpole until they see their car or caretaker for pick-up.
- Do not use the back parking lot, Lincoln (south of Rockwell) or Rockwell (between Lincoln & Dryden).
- State Law 625 ILCS 5/11-1303: NO PARKING within 30 feet of a STOP sign, within 20 feet of a crosswalk or intersection, or in front of a driveway
- Pick-up /drop-off curbside only. Don’t double-park or have your child walk/run between parked cars. Don’t make U-turns in the pick-up / drop-off line.
We greatly appreciate your cooperation, patience and understanding. Safety is of the utmost importance. Thank you for helping to keep all of our students safe!
5Essentials Survey
As of today, we only have 6% participation. Please take a few minutes to complete the 5Essentials Survey. Your participation in the parent portion of the survey will help us understand the conditions at our school and guide improvement. A report will be generated only if we have at least 20% parent participation. Survey Link: https://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/?target_name=parent
We will also have a computer set up for you to take the 5Essentials Survey at the Parent/Teacher Conferences next week.
*Your identity and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your child.*
Student Cell Phones & Wearable Devices
Please note that in AHSD25, elementary students are expected to leave cell phones and wearable devices in the "off" position and in their backpacks throughout the school day. We want to support our students in learning to problem-solve and advocate with their peers and teachers, and we appreciate your partnership in our efforts to do so. Exceptions include medical conditions, such as diabetes, in which a personal device may be utilized to notify the school nurse of the student's medical needs.
