Nurses Notes

The Flu: The flu and the common cold are both respiratory illnesses but they are caused by different viruses. Because these two types of illnesses have similar symptoms, it can be difficult to tell the difference between them. Please read the attached note regarding the Flu and what you can do to protect yourself from the flu.

Please keep your child home from school for at least 24 hours after their fever is gone. The fever should be gone without the use of a fever reducing medicine.

Phy-Ed News

It is a busy time in Physical Education. Abrams took part in the WSSA’s (World Speed Stack Assoc.) yearly attempt at breaking the Guinness World Record mark for “Most People Sport Stacking at Multiple Locations in One Day” with 635,000 stackers around the world! We broke the record with 638,503 stackers and had a great time playing Survivor to have our whole school be included in this awesome event!

With the holidays, we’ve been having fun with some of the favorites like Reindeer Roundup, Christmas Treasure Hunt, Healthy Highway, and Christmas Present Relay.

This February is our year to participate in KIDS HEART CHALLENGE (formerly Jump Rope for Heart). More details and information will be sent home in January. This is an awesome event that we really look forward to:)

FIT KIDS dates January 16, 21 & 23. Look for the permission slip coming home soon. Come join the fun!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
