Summer School Registration
Dates: Monday, June 6, 2022 through Thursday, July 21, 2022 (4th of July Holiday Break is July 4 -July 7)
Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday
Tuition: There will be no cost for Summer 2022 Credit Recovery Summer School due to funding provided by the Federal Government. This funding was provided to school districts for the purpose of addressing achievement gaps related to the COVID 19 Pandemic.
Registration Location: Online registration for Grades 9-12.
Registration Deadline: Tuesday, May 31, 2022
Only students who attended Florence City Schools during the 2021-2022 school year are eligible to take summer school courses.
The form below is to be completed if a student has failed a course needed for graduation. Students may recover credit through credit recovery or total credit redo.
Credit Recovery – A student who has failed a course required for graduation with a final grade of 40% - 59% qualifies for Credit Recovery. The student will be required to attend classes at FHS following the summer school attendance policy.
Description- This program features the computer-based instructional software Apex. When a student has demonstrated proficiency in the previously failed standards, the student will be released from summer school. Only one course at a time may be attempted. The maximum possible grade in Credit Recovery classes is 70%.
Total Credit Redo- A student who has failed a course with a score lower than a 40% qualifies for Total Credit Redo. The student will be required to attend classes at FHS following the summer school attendance policy.
Description- This program features the computer-based instructional software Apex. When a student has demonstrated proficiency in ALL state standards associated with a course, the student will be released from summer school. Only one course at a time may be attempted. The student’s grade is based on mastery of the standards.

All submissions are due no later than May 31, 2022 in order for a student to be eligible to attend Summer School.

Benchmarks Exemptions for 9th Grade Students:
Students in grades 7-12 that have a final yearly average of an “A” in any subject will be
exempt from that subject’s 4th nine weeks final benchmark test.

Florence City Schools will continue to participate in the Community Eligibility Program (CEP) for all grades, which would allow ALL FCS students to receive a free breakfast and lunch. A la carte items may still be purchased separately.
FCS’ cafeterias will be utilizing MySchoolBucks for money deposits, which will only be needed for a la carte items.
Online payments with MySchoolBucks are now available. Prepay your student's meal account online, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It is simple, fast and secure.

Masking Requirement Update
Beginning on Monday, November 15, Florence High School, Freshmen Center, and Middle School will move to a mask preferred status. This does not include buses. All students that ride the bus must still wear a mask on the bus.
