Your Weekly Math Department Update
MISS MORROW - @PAIGEMORROW_SHS
As a first year teacher, I’ve imagined many times what it would be like to say goodbye before summer to you guys, my first group of students. This, of course, is not what I had in mind at all. With that being said, I would still like to say thank you. This year has been hectic, confusing, and hard for all of us. However, you’ve each made the days I had with you joyful, new, and fun! The days that I expected to be most difficult, felt easy because of yours and your parents’ commitment to our community and your overall kindness. As you advance in your academic careers, I hope that each of you feel that I am still in your corner, there whenever you need me! And remember, you are the students that first made me so proud to be a General.

To all my Math Peeps, for our last week of school I never thought this is what it would be, but I am increasingly thankful for what we all have. We will be finding some fun math games online in google classroom and of course we will be doing our regular zoom meeting and it would be great to see you all at least one last time. I have missed you all greatly and can't wait for the new adventures that next school year holds with all of you. To our seniors in math, OG, Sam B., Mitchell, and Colt, we are envious of all the new adventures you are about to have and of course being back next year won't be the same without you all. I hope you all have a wonderful summer break filled with family, friends, and good health, and I will be excited to hear all your stories when we meet again.
MR. HICKMAN - @JAYHICKMAN_SHS
Hello everyone. I hope this Newsletter finds you well. I miss you so much. This has been a year we will neve forget. Sometimes when I notice you drifting in class, I go into a “Back when…” story that always brings you back. We will have an unlimited amount of such stories to share with our audiences in the future.
You are my purpose at this point in my life. I’m blessed to teach at Northern Local, I’m blessed to have a student schedule that “forces” you to spend time with me every day. I’m lost without you!
It is my hope as your math teacher, that you find a love for math, that your confidence grows with math and most importantly a relationship grows between us and your classmates. The greatest reward as a teacher is paid in full in the future. It is my hope that 10+ years from now, we encounter each other and a smile takes over our faces and we connect, we laugh and we truly care about how each of us is doing.
I miss each of you already, I can’t imagine my emotions going forward…
Thank you for your contributions to my continued growth as a man, as a teacher and as a friend.
It’s GREAT to be a General!

It has been a pleasure working with all my students. It was not the end of the school year any of us could have expected. I wish I could have personally said thank you and given each of you a proper goodbye. I am proud of the hard work and dedication all my students displayed this school year. To my seniors I wish all of you the best in the next steps of your life. To my underclassman I hope to see you in the fall.
MRS. PINDER - @LINDSEYPINDER13
I just want to thank everyone for their patience and effort during this remote learning period. I know this time hasn't been easy, but I've been impressed with everyone's ability to rise to the occasion and adapt so well and so quickly. I hope everyone has a fantastic summer while staying safe and healthy. I will miss you all! Go Generals!!!!!!

Students enrolled in Hocking College (CCP) Trigonometry and Statistics classes have finished the course content. The AP Calculus students have completed their AP exams from the comfort of home. Many have graduated and are looking forward to participating in the parade this weekend and winding down the school year. It has been fun sharing stories on our daily zoom of our projects and adventures during quarantine. This class will be missed including my own graduate as he heads off to the Air Force.
