HOW WE KEEP OUR STUDENTS SAFE
2. Administration makes the decision if an early dismissal is needed
3. Leadership team, teachers, and staff receive communication via email and radio
4. Leadership team report to their posts
5. Principal makes the early pick-up call to parents and the community
There’s no movement of students when we call a 30/30. When it’s safe to move students we have designated holding areas for different groups, as follows:
Car Riders: Media Center – Monitored by: 4 adults
Bus Riders: Cafeteria – Monitored by 3 adults
All Stars: Gym – Monitored by All-Star Staff
Walkers and Bike Riders: 200 hallway – Monitored by 2 adults.
Parents are welcome to come to the front office to pick up their students at any time. We have 6 staff members working in the front office, helping parents and calling students from their classrooms.
Walkers and bike riders are allowed to leave the building once it is determined by the administration that it is safe for them to be dismissed. Students who are not comfortable leaving campus can wait in the media center.
WHAT PARENTS CAN DO TO KEEP STUDENTS SAFE
A Concern from a Parent
Below is an excerpt of an email I received from a parent this Saturday:
WE NEED YOUR HELP
I urge you to:
1. Be prepared to wait.
2. Drive safely
3. Do not encourage your student to walk through the parking lot trying to get to your car. It's very dangerous and once students leave the area where they are supposed to be school is not responsible for the student's safety and well-being anymore
4. Follow directions of staff members directing traffic once you enter the school parking lot
