Halo Highlight
Dear Saints Families,
What does it mean to be a Catholic high school? How do we balance defending and preaching the faith with also not sheltering our students from the “real world?” Recent Halo Notes newsletters have mentioned some people or organizations (notably Ayn Rand and the ACLU) that drew some concern from you, our parents. They asked why we as a school are promoting Ayn Rand (and objectivism) or the work the ACLU is doing. The answer is that it is never our intent to promote any organization, other than the teachings and work of the Catholic Church. Please know, of course, that we take your concerns very seriously, and we are always evaluating how we are being true to our mission and our identity. As a Catholic high school we are called to be welcoming of all, yet authentically and truly Catholic. We take that calling very seriously.
One more reminder that our Strategic Visioning Listening Sessions begin tomorrow! These sessions provide you a valuable opportunity to offer your thoughts and opinions on the present state and future of St. Louis Catholic High School. We will take what we hear, along with the work of our faculty and staff, to draft a strategic vision and plan for the future of our school.
We strongly encourage you to attend one of the following 60-75 minute sessions, here at school. Please RSVP at this link. *Due to very few RSVPs, we have canceled tomorrow’s 8:00 a.m. session – please come at noon or on another day.*
Friday, April 5 – Noon
Wednesday, April 10 - 1:00 p.m. (Immediately after the Parent Guild Meeting)
Wednesday, April 10 - 6:00 p.m.
Tuesday, April 16 - 6:00 p.m.
We look forward to seeing you and hearing your thoughts.
God Bless,
Andrew R. Bradley, Principal

LifeShare Blood Drive April 29 at SLCHS
St. Louis Catholic High School will host another blood drive on Monday, April 29, from 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in one of LifeShare's mini buses. We need 30 blood products to be eligible for a $500 scholarship. If you/your student would like to donate blood, please sign up with Mrs. dee if at all possible, to decrease waiting times. The goal has been set for 20, just for projection reasons, but LifeShare has 47 appointment slots available. If anyone is not able to make it to this drive, they are welcome to come In-center to donate. Anyone can donate in the student’s name.
An individual donating In-Center MUST contact either Lauren Charles or LaTasha Bellow at LifeShare to ensure that the student and St. Louis Catholic receive credit to meet the personal and school goal. They can also give the school Group code 103823.
State Rally is Saturday
Good luck to the State Rally participants competing this Saturday at LSU. A special thanks goes to those who supported the auction for the gift of the rally T-shirts. Also, a super thanks for the rally bag donations from Mrs. Richard with Key Club, Mrs. Holmes and Mrs. David in the Counseling Department, Mrs. Villaume and Mrs. LeJeune with NHS, and Ms. dee with Student Council!
